I worked at Tesco Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The company generally is enjoyable to work in. Houston locations are outside the beltway so you don't have to fight the inbound traffic in most directions.

    Cons

The turnover in some groups has made the focus of some of the business lines a moving target.

I worked at Tesco Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Fair pay and great benefit package. Room to move up within the organization. Traveled to many interesting places.

    Cons

Short notice to prep for overseas jobs.
Unfair assessment on incident which lead to being terminated. Clean record for 17 years of service prior. Felt the company could have handled it better. Learned that trust in an employers fairness can be broken. Overall, I enjoyed my time with Tesco.

    Advice to Management

Be more fair when evaluating reasons for termination. Consider ones past, clean track record.

I worked at Tesco Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good R&D, Lot's of great folks working for the company.

    Cons

High level Management has lost touch with both reality and the boots on the ground. Lofty goals with little to no support to make goals realistic.

    Advice to Management

Simply putting lofty goals on paper does not make them achievable, support and action does. I would Suggest high level management not only listen to the troops, but get out of your office and hit the field to see what the districts are really faced with. Drop the holier then thou mentality. Tesco has a good product, but so does your competition.

Upper management were self centered and self absorbed. Preached safety but would not provide the necessities to run a safe job.

    Advice to Management

Find new jobs before you ruin a good company v

I have been working at Tesco Corporation (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Dynamic Company; promotions from current employees often occur; opportunities to stretch and grow.

    Cons

Oil service company adversely affected by the low crude oil prices and severe drop in share price.

    Advice to Management

Reviewing executive salaries and perks when cutting costs; need to keep enough trained management, sales and operations staff to weather the downturn

I worked at Tesco Corporation full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Base location management were great to work with, corporate, not so much. Took them to much time to make minor changes. Not close to industry standard pay.

    Cons

Never knew till the last minute what state you were going to wake up in. Not much home time. Had to spend your own money and then wait on expense sheet to be processed, and then get your money.

    Cons

    Good ole boy mind set
Fernando the CEO is cut throat, and has no respect for the "doers"
Not a place for a career
LOTS of politics - Hispanics will succeed

    Advice to Management

Performance needs to be better managed, poor performers should be managed out, not moved around
