    Fantastic Oppurtunity!

    Pros

Tesla is a very fast paced work enviroment. If you work there it is expected that you will give 100%. As an Intern you will work with some of the best people in the industry and have legitimate responsibilities that are crucial for keeping the factories moving along. Very young and ambitious colleagues. There is oppurtunity to be promoted if you show that you have what it takes.

    Cons

The work enviroment can be draining and stressful over long periods of time. Long hours and working weekends are fairly normal depending on the importance and timelines of projects. As Tesla matures I can see this work enviroment changing to a more relaxed atmosphere. I think it is a great place to work at if you want to slingshot your career in your mid to late 20's and early 30's. You will be working with the best of best in incredibly clean and adnvanced factories. It was a fantastic oppurtunity.

    Competitive Working Environment

Jan 31, 2021 - Quality Technician in Fremont, CA

    Pros

This is for hourly employees. - Good benefits: Health, Vision, Dental. Deduction: $45 Individual, $90 with others. - Bonus contains choices up to $5,500 by excellent performance every 6 months. You can decide the choice with Cash, RSU, or Stock Options. - AWS Schedule helps your work/life balance. Otherwise, Regular schedule may have mandatory every other Saturdays - 90%+ are friendly employees (but can be fake, watch yourself). You can't expect everyone to be nice. - Always take initiative to learn to improve your opportunities in careers to grow. - Volunteering overtime is a plus to earn good money. - Level ups to 5 levels. Level 5 is hard to achieve. May need 6+ years I think. - Days can go by fast, if you are working fast pace working environment.

    Cons

    - Long hours up to 10-12 in regular schedules (Not AWS) - Fake employees will do anything to take away your chance for level ups and promotion. - Fake people. Most will be affected by this curse in order to protect their reputation to move forward in the future within Tesla. - Many politics and employee level stacking. Once you're level 3, advise you to apply for another title. - In most area, only 1 person may take on PTO leave to greatly not impact numbers. (My team are Pilots atm and perhaps soon will be affected) - Accurred up to 15 PTO per Calendar year. Recently Tesla added FLT day, not sure amount FLT accurred per year. PTO is combined with sick leaves. It's not much but not too bad. - Attendance point system is strict. Pass over 4.5 points and you'll be terminated. This was enforced due to many employee call in last day of the week.

    To each their own

    Pros

-Fast pace, fast changes. Workflows come with guideline changes weekly to monthly. -Quite stern on expectation and heavily rely on performance stats which is motivating for ones that strive for and thrive under pressure. -Support mental health expenses with Lyra program. -Work with amazing team of people who are motivated and dedicated. More than willing to offer help and support. -Feedbacks regarding improvement of workflow and management are mostly heard, considered, and taken actions on for the interests of workflow and individuals.

    Cons

I feel besides from the mental health program and the amazing peers, everything I listed could be viewed as Cons. -Fast pace environment with a lot of changes comes with effort put in a certain aspect of the workflow goes out of the window in an unstable manner. -High expectation pushing stress on individuals. -One would really have to take responsibility into their own hand, be proactive about reach out for help as well as to understand their own performance.

    Quality Engineering Internship at Tesla

    Pros

    - Great exposure to an automotive manufacturing experience - Plenty of things to learn from everybody - Fast pace environment, but it allows you to be challenged - Pay is great for interns, it's standard based on grade level (I'm a master's student)

    Cons

    - Things can be overwhelming, in terms of how you're immediately thrown into what is going on at the moment - Manager might not set up meetings with you, unless you do - Taking initiative is important, or you will get left behind, so don't expect anyone to hold your hand
