I have been working at Tesoro Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Decent pay but could be higher to account for cost of living
    - 9/80 schedule for engineers
    - Yearly bonuses and raises

    Cons

    - Some of the culture can be like college, but I assume all companies are like this. More outgoing and popular employees are seen as favorable at times
    - Simple straight time pay for 12 hour shift work (when approved)

    Advice to Management

Pay closer attention to employee satisfaction through regular check-ins. Motivated employees are key, and management provides motivation.

    Pros

Tesoro has grown in the last five years and it appears it will continue to do so for many years to come. The company offers opportunities for growth whether you are an hourly or salaried employee. It promotes a quick paced environment. Tesoro celebrates its high performers with an emphasis, It is not a good place for a non-performer they will not fit into the culture. The company demands the best out of employees and in return the employees are rewarded with a very good compensation package.

    Cons

Tesoro is a very hard company to get hired into. The company's selection process is detail and the candidate must be patient. Few minorities and woman in the company at this time but that is changing.

    Advice to Management

Trust employees more you hired us for a reason. Continue to become more diverse and our company will continue to be best in class.
