    I have been working at Test Masters Educational Services, Inc. part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    * Fun job
    * Flexible hours
    * Great co-workers
    * Mangement that seems to care
    * Comprehensive training provided
    * Great learning environment

    Cons

    * teachers required to take actual tests for exams they are teaching. This part is not fun.

    Advice to Management

    * Taking the actual exam is important so we can be better teachers, but perhaps it is not necessary to take the actual test every time it is given.

    I worked at Test Masters Educational Services, Inc. part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Provides good extra income while allowing you to control your schedule
    Excellent training program for newbie teachers who have little to no experience
    Opportunity to learn engaging ways to teach
    Consistent amount of work, especially if you are willing to tutor or adminster tests during less busy periods
    Opportunity to travel

    Cons

    You will need a good car to travel between locations to get maximum hours
    Need to frequently check schedule as there are always new sessions being added
    Seasonal, with peak times in summer (although good for college students that way)

    Advice to Management

    Hire more people so that at peak times are not as stressful

    I have been working at Test Masters Educational Services, Inc. part-time

    Pros

    If you love teaching/tutoring and don't mind the part-time supplemental income, then this is a great place with great flexibility in scheduling. Plus, you don't have a boss breathing down your neck when you're teaching, so you have some autonomy. It's a good job for college students looking for part-time work.

    Personalitywise, the CEO is welcoming. As long as you do your job, he treats you well. I've had other jobs where management never said thank you or showed that they were grateful. Roger Israni does this from time to time. While yearly bonuses (usually in the form of electronic gadgets, not cash) are nothing to write home about, they are there nonetheless. As far as I know, raises only occur when employees ask.

    Cons

    -- Driving. Good lord, the driving sucks and will put wear & tear and miles on your car. Some of the teaching locations are an hour away, with some locations even farther out. If you love driving and spending time in your car, especially during rush hour, then this job is for you.
    -- This place has a higher turnover than a restaurant. So many people go in and out because they realize this is not the job they wanted and/or aren't compensated enough for their work.
    -- Lack of employee benefits. Better get you some Obamacare.

    Advice to Management

    More employees would stick around long-term if management/ownership would make it worth their while monetarily or if there was some opportunity for career advancement. As both of these are nonexistent, employees will continue to stay short-term and leave (very) soon after.

    Disapproves of CEO

    I have been working at Test Masters Educational Services, Inc. part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    The pay is decent. Technically, you're paid for travel, but it's at such an abysmal rate it's not worth your time.
    - If you're getting scheduled consistently (Happens when you're sucking up, not when you ask questions), the pay is solid.
    - Ability to schedule unpaid time away is decent.
    - There will always be classes
    - If you're looking for supplemental income, this is a good place to go. Bad place for a full-time career. Good choice if you're still in college and want extra cash.

    Cons

    - The CEO is insanely difficult. He micromanages everything. Most people can only stand him for a year before they leave.
    - The culture there is very averse to decisions being questioned. An employee argued with management and then not only had his hours cut, but management told other employees about this as a warning.
    - Work/hours are used as a reward/punishment
    - Travel sounds great, but is pretty awful as most travel is "tutoring" rather than "teaching" (which is paid at 2/3 rate) and is only 2.5 hours instead of 3. This means that you're in a random city and, while you work only 3 hours, you end up spending more money than you earn trying to occupy yourself.

    If you have the ability to and Roger doesn't veto it, try to speak to a current employee alone and see if their experience matches up with this.

    Advice to Management

    Roger really has no incentive to change anything. There will always be college students eager to make $20+ an hour teaching SAT, so he treats employees as disposable. Since everyone is afraid of losing their hours (work is used as a punishment/reward), nobody will stand up in groups.

    I have been working at Test Masters Educational Services, Inc. full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    * Fun job if you like to teach or tutor.
    * High performing employees are rewarded very well.
    * Many opportunities to fly to other cities - perfect since I like to travel.
    * Excellent and thorough training
    * All travel and training is paid.
    * Company constantly is training you in new areas.
    * Understanding and empathetic management.
    * Smart co-workers
    * Company has the best reputation amongst students.
    * Awesome christmas gifts for everyone by management
    * Very stable working environment.

    Cons

    * Company is growing very fast, and can sometimes can have growing pains....putting stress on employees.
    * The company has many locations, so you would need a car to travel between them.
    * Some low performing or negative employees keep getting second chances, but should be let go by management.

    Advice to Management

    Let low performing employees go earlier instead of giving them several chances. Some people cannot be fixed.
