Technical Account Manager

Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

    Best place to test

    Pros

I have been working with testerwork over a year and since it's going so well I felt some responsibility to write a review. I always loved testerwork but wanted to get more jobs, hence I did register similar websites. After the experience I had with similar sites, I really and really appreciate testerwork. Other websites were so unprofessional compared to Testerwork. - First of all, Testerwork pays a really decent amount of money for testing. It varies how much you work and how experienced you are but the payments are great overall. I have never felt like my earnings are not secure with them which you will feel the same when you talk with their support. - The best thing about Testerwork is their moderators and support. They don't play games in order to not to pay. They do the necessary changes to your report if something is wrong instead of just rejecting and ignoring your effort. They can reject your report by mistake(rarely) but I'm amazed at how they are accepting it and fixing it once you tell them. They are not stubborn people like the moderators on similar websites... - Their website is great. They coded their website solely for testing which makes it so simple to join the test cases and execute them. While similar websites just gather everyone in skype and tell barely about the test case and expecting you to do it, Testerwork gives you all the necessary details you need. They create a really good explaining document about the test case and with that, you don't feel lost. - They have the biggest companies as a customer which means you can access the early developing environments of really important websites and apps.

    Cons

    - I wish that test case ending dates be longer on weekends so we can test it further while we have more time.

    all bad

Dec 26, 2018 - QA Tester in San Francisco, CA

    Pros

none - I guess that you can work online but in reality I still do not know if this is a legit company to work for - look at the reviews and the same problems still happening , really shady

    Cons

-Project emails come in the same time of the projects, literally hours before it's very though to prepared -Also for example: They would tell you the hour of the projNone - For example: 27th December at 06:00 >>what time zone? -There is NO way to get a hold of them and ask any questions, their website has not been update for a very long time -I just got an email recently about a project (the day of) signed up for it and then it would be NO follow up -They have a lot of requirements on bug writing protocol, it sounds like people are not happy with them , negative reviews are on point -Once again there is no way to get a hold of anyone , it feels bad because it sounded fantastic at the start and I was excited to be able to test from home etc -I hope this helps others that are looking into working with them

    Pros

You get paid for every approved bug Chance to grow, in levels, which give more pay. A good place to start as a beginner. Good side income* Timely pay

    Cons

Test invitations are not frequent. (4 points out of 10) Academy articles are sometimes vague, making them hard to understand for beginners. Very limited assess as a tester. ( Can not see other testers on the team)

    Great company to work at.

Aug 21, 2021 - QA Software Tester in Kigali, Kigali

    Pros

Tester Work has been very significant since I joined them in 2019. I've executed test cases with them, and I always get paid on time. The learning process is also fantastic as you increase your rank every day based on how much you've tested, and that's also how increment happens on the amount you earn. Their team is excellent at support and clarifying any doubts. I will always recommend them every day.

    Cons

The time limit to join an exploratory test invitation is too short. Within 1 minute of receiving the invitation email, if a tester doesn't apply the join, they lose their chance of getting in, immediately. I think that can be improved upon.
