      Pros

An outstanding Hispanic Serving Institution with a clear mission and a pervasive commitment to students

      Cons

At less than two decades old, the institution is growing quickly, and constantly shifting gears to keep up with the pace of change. This is not a place for people without drive, flexibility, and creativity.

Success is largely dependent on your immediate supervisor

      Pros

Many people who work there are very invested in the mission and the success of students and their peers. There are a lot of great leaders too, though not as many as needed to really achieve the success that those at the top aspire for.

      Cons

Your success and happiness is largely dependent on your immediate supervisor and team. There are some areas where team members have been there for years, while many/most struggle to retain employees more than a few months. Word of advice: don't buy a house the first year. Employee retention is a widespread problem in many areas; until you figure out where you landed hold off. Also, if you're considering involving HR, don't bother. They are aware that there are managers/directors that can't hold on to their staff and look the other way rather than address workplace harassment and bullying.
