      Beware! Not What it Appears!

      Pros

      The clinical staff are exceptional, and are committed to providing exceptional patient care. The mission and vision are why most join the organization. Good compensation.

      Cons

      There is a reason HR has such high turnover. The standing joke is that HR is like being in junior high, working for/with mean girls - it's very clique-ish, with few "leaders" brave enough to confront the real issues. On the surface, the passionate culture seems great; reality is another story. Reviews on social media were often created by the HR Communications team, to keep the ratings high and make the organization appear better than it is.

      Pros

      Great benefits, free parking away from the main campus. Great coworkers.

      Cons

      I use to work in the HR dept and it wasn’t the best working environment. High turnover, huge disconnect from HR leaders.

      Had to leave a great job

      Pros

      The hospital mission is great PTO is very generous Location, location, location! The Medical Center is centrally located. Free parking in some buildings

      Cons

      Complacency on the part of "lifers," and they get away with it HR always backs up Management, even when they're wrong Favoritism; if Mark Wallace likes you, you will go from Director to Senior VP in 2-3 years flat. If you tick Mark Wallace off, you will be tossed out like garbage. Lack of diversity in executive leadership. 3% increase. Leadership is expected to give all employees the same 3% increase regardless of their performance. I hated doing that! I had a great job but the minute I got a new direction who had an agenda, my 8 years of exemplary performance was completely ignored. HR is really AWFUL, which is why they have such high turnover.

      IS Department has the worst culture

      Pros

      There are genuinely good people in non leadership positions to work with & knowing that you work for an organization that does so much for families in need is a great feeling.

      Cons

      The culture & leadership from the CIO through the executive chain is the worse than I've ever experienced within an IS organization at any level. Low quality of life, poor communication, inconsistent direction & turning teams against one another are just a few of the low class leadership qualities nurtured throughout; this is evident in their high turnover of FTEs.

      Pros

      Great mission to always do the best thing for the patient; Competitive salary in comparison to other hospitals/TMC institutions in area; Get 40 PTO hours at the time of hire; Several perks for parking and transportation; Some [hidden] jewels throughout institution with incredible knowledge;

      Cons

      Terrible IT department! High turnover (both voluntary and involuntary); Ridiculous number of meetings per week that don't have any meaningful result; Spend-thrift attitude when it comes to getting necessary materials/software to do job or additional training to excel in your job; Only 6 paid holidays per year; Disorganized culture and constant change in priorities;

      Cannot wait to work here again

      Pros

      TCH is a very traditional, old fashioned institution as far as leadership goes. However, as a whole, TCH is extremely relationship driven which fits perfectly with my personality and leadership style. If you like meeting new people and networking, you'll fit in here.

      Cons

      There has been some high turnover in the past, but TCH is starting to overcome that. As other people have said, parking is a headache, and the shuttle system is not my favorite. It has improved with the shuttle tracking system, but I wish I could park wherever I wanted.

      Pros

      Working with and for the children is an awesome experience.

      Cons

      If you were not part of the "click" within this department, there was little chance that you are given an opportunity to advance. You are only given an opportunity when you kiss butt and that's not what it should be about. Very high turnover within this department and poor management within the QOM Dept.
