I worked at Texas Instruments (More than 10 years)

    Pros

TI is a terrific company to work for as an individual contributor probably more than as a manager like most larger companies. If you are a hard charging individual with ambition you can find yourself on a fast track provided that you make sure you are on programs that are going somewhere commercially. As you go up the technical ladder, you need to produce something of significance.

    Cons

You probably will not get rich but you will be comfortable.

    Advice to Management

As you go up the management ladder you must understand people for whom you are responsible, laterally and above you - if that is politics to you, so be it. By the time you are dealing with Boards of Directors, it is definitely politics.
