I worked at Texas Instruments as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people are the smartest, nicest people in the world. I learned so much, worked on really cool projects, got paid pretty well, and was always treated with the utmost respect, even though I was just an intern. TI give paid time off even to interns. If you don't use it, they either roll it over to next year or pay you out. TI also gives 401K and stock options to interns. Flipping amazing.

    Cons

The pay wasn't as high as at other tech companies, but the corporate benefits totally made up for that. There's really nothing bad I can say about TI. They are amazing.

I worked at Texas Instruments full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Texas Instruments has a wealth of cutting edge engineering. Management is old school, but they are neither afraid to explore new opportunities with serious money - nor are they shy about cutting loses when opportunity ends.

The engineering team I worked with at TI was the MOST diverse of my entire career - ethnically, gender, international, poly-lingual. Eye opening and exciting!

    Cons

Compensation is good, but not outstanding.

    Pros

The people at Texas Instruments are easy to get along with and upper management make efforts to reach out to lower-level employees. No one works past 5pm.

    Cons

There could be more room for advancement and a lot of the work is boring. It's hard to get passionate about their products and services.

    Advice to Management

I don't have any advice for management. They are doing great and I'm just an intern. I really do appreciate how accessible they are and their transparency.

I have been working at Texas Instruments full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits. Focused on capturing market share. Good work life balance

    Cons

Culture of the Company is NOT definitely millennial owing to its size and relative age when compared with other newer tech companies. Changes are difficult to come by, but the management is trying hard to make the company nimble and flexible.

    Advice to Management

Changes to the MGTS 5 year policy is a welcome change. Other changes to the review and feedback are also a welcome change. It is my personal feeling that it is harder to pitch career opportunities at TI to a new college grad, more needs to be done here.

I have been working at Texas Instruments full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The culture at TI is awesome. The environment is laid back and the people you get to work with are always willing to help out when needed. The benefits package is also great. Strongly encouraged to move laterally or horizontally within the company depending on your preference. Work flexibility and ability to maintain work/life balance are very appealing.

    Cons

From a technology standpoint as a software engineer, you won't be working on anything considered 'cutting-edge'. The work is very interesting and challenging but the software used to do it isn't the latest and greatest.

    Advice to Management

If you decide that you want to attract and keep the top software engineers coming out of college, you might consider upgrading the technologies used for development.

    Cons

    Pros

Awesome company. Best internship experience I had. I had the change to work with really cool technologies and be surrounded by knowledgeable people.

    Cons

Getting away from embedded processing. As markets change, TI focused on other markets other than wireless and baseband.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. Everyone in TI was very approachable and easy going when being asked questions.
