    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Texas National Guard (More than a year)

    Pros

Giving people the capability to serve their community and country while pursuing their career on a daily basis. Texas has a great community even though the soldiers come from so many different reaches across the state. The Command presence and leadership capabilities are shown with the awards the Enlisted have obtained. The training is superior and the Enlisted are always enthusiastic about it.

    Cons

The pay will never be satisfying. The time away from family for duty; whether it's one weekend a month, the two weeks out of the summer, or another school for career progression, is always difficult.

    Advice to Management

Enough soldiers have the paperwork to prove they have failed the standard for years; some of the soldiers have not passed the standards since coming out of AIT. Progress the deserving, push out the non-compliant.
