I have been working at Texas Roadhouse part-time

    Pros

Good money if you're young- not a lot of room for growth long term

    Cons

Management doesn't care about their employees
Very concerned with the bottom line of sales, sales, sales
Won't close under any circumstances including dangerous weather

I worked at Texas Roadhouse part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Met some of the most genuine people that have become a huge part of my life. Work week is variable.

    Cons

Had to use my own car and pay for my own gas when attending events and doing bread runs without reimbursements. You don't get noticed for working hard, only when you mess up. Managers let their "favorites" take off for parties but took issue when emergencies came up and people couldn't come in.

Small sections, too many servers at once. Got to work only to stay for an hour and be sent home because it was slow.

Low pay, not worth the frustration and stress.

    Advice to Management

I stayed in the company for 7 years and had to fight to get what I was promised time and time again. Keep your promises, and appreciate the people who work hard to keep your FOH and BOH running smoothly.

I have been working at Texas Roadhouse part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are some nice people who work there. I have good guests that come in and the management is good for the most part.

    Cons

The money is the main one and the amount of duties I have for such little pay. Too much is expected for little reward making it hard to comfortably live.

    Advice to Management

Drop bite squad because it’s a waste of time, it deters from giving out guests a great experience who come into house to get food, as well as adds more stress to students who are already making little money.

I have been working at Texas Roadhouse part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

great environment; great people; good money when its busy.

    Cons

management doesn't care to help with situations with tables; they always take the customers side; you get screwed over because people know they can get away with complaining, for free food and they get it, so you get little to no tip; clientele is horrible; it takes forever to get cut, and once you do get cut we are already most likely 30 minutes away from closing,

    Advice to Management

act like you care for your staff; encourage your staff to do better and pursue goals; stop playing favorites, or letting older people get away with things that should be universal; cut down servers better when we are dead.

I worked at Texas Roadhouse part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I started working at Texas Roadhouse at the beginning of a store opening. The training was about a week long and there was initially about 200 employees. I stayed with the company for about a year and a half. I met a lot of great people who ended up being my closest friends, and made decent money during my time there.

    Cons

I came on as a part time employee, because I was a full time college student. I ended up being scheduled 6 times a week because if I picked up shifts my manager would copy & paste our schedule from the previous weeks, I worked doubles Friday-Sunday. When I needed time off it was an issue because the company doesn't want to hire on more staff and pay to train them. of the 200 employees from the start there was 8 of us left at the end of the year and a half.

    Advice to Management

get it together and don't disregard employee complaints, find a balance between friendship and the ability to be a good manager, hire people when you need them, appreciate your long time and hard working veteran employees.
