I worked at Texas Roadhouse part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good people working with you make the job worth doing. Reasonable management that is for the most part supportive. Very flexible scheduling good friend r students.

    Cons

Entitled and frustrating clientele and a building which is way too small and poorly equiped for the amount of business they do.

I worked at Texas Roadhouse part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I worked at a couple different Roadhouses for about 6 years. One of them had phenomenal management and you were totally treated like family, everyone was close and they took care of their employees. The other one was one of the busiest stores in the nation, which was nice, but there was definitely a lack in professionalism in management. Texas Roadhouses are almost always busy so money can be good, however they limit you to 3-table sections and for any decent server, that is ridiculous. Closing is where you make good money so get into that if you can.

    Cons

SO SO SO overly corporate. They say it's not a script that you have to say to tables, but with the certain phrases you have to incorporate into your service, it definitely comes across as being robotic. I tried to make them come out as naturally as possible but it still changes the dynamic of the table. I could tell that guests would reciprocate the lack of genuine conversation and it therefore affected their experience because they couldn't have as good of a time. Be prepared for a script that will give you a twitch every time you have to say "ice cold beer" instead of just "beer" and "LEGENDARY margaritas" (always a phrase that customers could tell was scripted haha)

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the "story items"---AKA script. Really inhibits customers' likelihood of relaxing and enjoying their experience. Otherwise, super great food (made it easy to recommend to people), fun spot, usually great team cooperation
