I worked at Texas Roadhouse part-time

    Pros

Money as a server was good, people were friendly, nice atmosphere and great food

    Cons

Subpar managers, very nosey people led to a lot of workplace drama

    Advice to Management

Take care of your employees better, specifically non-servers and non-hosts (coming from a former server and host at the company)

I have been working at Texas Roadhouse part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

My fellow waiters and waitresses are great people.
The money is good on some busy days.
The hours are at good times if you are a college student (opening at 4 on weekdays).

    Cons

Bad management at my location. Favoritism, hateful comments towards those she does not like, 2 table sections frequently. Doesn't want to work with us.

    Advice to Management

Grow up. Act like an adult and realize how frivolous all of this is in the end.

I worked at Texas Roadhouse full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The 2 stores I worked for had 2 really great/ fun kitchen managers and 2 of the worst kitchen managers.
As with every kitchen you can do or say what ever you want.
Even with the unnatural hair color policy, I was able to have hair every color of the rainbow without reprimand.

    Cons

Super sexist. Constantly made to feel less than because I was a woman. I once had a problem with an appliance at work and upon letting the GM know, he told me "Well none of the men have ever had a problem with it." Sexually harassed verbally and physically on a day to day basis.
Pay is terrible for a cook, barely got paid $10 with 10 years restaurant expirience.

    Advice to Management

Get it together guys. Treat all who work there with respect and pay them what they deserve.

I worked at Texas Roadhouse part-time

    Pros

Texas Roadhouse really is giant family. The culture is great and the people are even better. The tips were typically good and many of the guests were regulars <3

    Cons

Not very flexible with scheduling, typically hard to get shifts covered, not very understanding of family emergencies/school/sickness.

    Advice to Management

It has been a few years since I worked there, but what the advice I would give is to be more flexible with scheduling and more understanding of life situations. We are all human and when family emergencies come up or an unexpected illness takes over, I believe it would be of great benefit to be more understanding of the situation and help find ways of making absence work.

    Pros

Fantastic money without having to work 40 hours a week. Especially if you are in college it can give you more time to study without worrying about finances.

    Cons

No many is guaranteed since it is serving but it should be a risk willing to take.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the employees who see first hand things that are happening. A lot of times they are right.

I have been working at Texas Roadhouse full-time

    Pros

I absolutely love everyone that I work with! From management to to-go hosts, back of house staff, and servers. I love working with people and meeting new people. I like working busy shifts as well.

    Cons

The only downside of working at Texas Roadhouse is that I do not make enough money. I have kind of wanted to leave Texas Roadhouse for a few months, but I love the staff so much, that I stayed.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing the awesome job that you guys do! You guys keep work fun and efficient! And keep listening to everyone on ways we can improve.
