"Good company to work for as an entry level engineer, depending on your department"

    Pros

Good people to work with, lots of training for new skills, good vacation time, not too much OT in the departments I worked in

    Cons

Terrible health insurance, some other departments had really bad OT and people in those departments left

    Advice to Management

Get less embarrassing health insurance for your employees. Otherwise, it was a great place to work

I have been working at Textron full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Great company with great employees.

    Cons

I feel like I am walking around a college campus. The older, experienced employees are on the decline. Yearly raises are not that great...maximum 3% increase

    Advice to Management

move the experienced employees up the ladder or into management roles.

    Pros

    Access to higher level management
    You are trusted with projects
    Great mentorship

    Cons

Its great, if you dont know what you want to do in IT. If you know what you want to do in a specified field, this program will be a great experience, but waste of your time. You could gain 2 years gaining real experiencde in a specialized role.

I have been working at Textron full-time

    Pros

This job is very good for someone starting out. The training is very good, the benefits are great, and the people are all very nice for the most part. I would recommend this job to someone wanting to start out who wants to move from being former military or from a say $10 an hr job or so to build up. Overall, I've really enjoyed working for Textron. We get a good basic package medical, dental, 401K, ect. I'm working here on 2nd shift so I can take college classes during the day. Having a regular 2:15-10:45 pm schedule while I'm in college is a huge plus! Being able to work full time while in college is a huge plus. The tuition assistance Textron offers is very nice too.

    Cons

There is some mandatory overtime on Saturdays. The overtime is nice for the pay, but if you're in school it can make getting all your homework done difficult from time to time.

    Advice to Management

Honestly I don't really have any. I'm pretty happy working here. I guess keep up the great work.

I worked at Textron full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It is a place where I can work with very few management and take ownership in everything I do. That makes the employees work harder to achieve a greater satisfaction and results at work

    Cons

Unfortunately with the constant change in Directors and Board there are too many change of plans, many transitions, that is a good thing, the bad thing is that we can never finish one idea, it will get changed again.

    Advice to Management

I would just take our time before making a decision of going forward or backing up of a plan that we have already spent some money, before jumping into another one.
