I have been working at Textron full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, medical insurance, paid vacation and sick leave, excellent retirement plan, and 401K. Once you are vested with the company they match your 401K contributions $0.50 on the dollar up to 10% of your salary.
Good people to work with, there are always a few not so good ones that slip in, but overall good teams.
The company encourages promotion from within or even movement between the different divisions of the company.

    Cons

We have had poor leadership in the past but for now we are in a good place in the cycle. We survived the "Outsource Everything" era, it is good to see the manufacturing of critical vehicle components coming back in-house where quality can be better controlled.

    Pros

-Multiple industries and business units to gain experience in
-Excellent communication across business units and corporate
-Networking opportunities with the higher ups
    -Average to Above Average Salaries
-401k Match (50% of the first 10% of your base salary)
    -Holidays/Time Off

    Cons

-Avoid the Smaller Business Units. While you can get diverse exposure in the smaller businesses that textron owns, the management is often strained and wear too many hats and it adversely affects their hiring standard of young professionals to train and develop.
-Shifting management around makes it difficult for the younger members of the team to adjust and understand expectations at times
-Not many opportunities for training unless you are at one of the larger business units
-The dress code wasnt enforced universally
-Not a fan of their health insurance options

    Advice to Management

If you are going to pride yourself in hiring young talent and developing them in the opening stages of their career, then DONT stress your management to where they are forced to overlook the the time where there is a need for development and coaching of young talent in the name of chasing sales.

-Develop leadership principles and distribute them effectively

-Increase the awareness of Standard Procedures

    Pros

Working level people small community, nice good people.

    Cons

Hard to make a career here, Textron executive management not accountable, micro-management style providing inadequate and poor direction. Standard practice to scapegoat employees for management decisions. Company standard of business conduct only applies to lower level employees not executive management and a few select inner circle people. HR ineffective in managing this environment.

    Advice to Management

Grow up, stop taking yourselves so serious, think about the future of the company not your own personal short term gains. Act with integrity and ethics to win business.

    Pros

Nothing to share. Technology is at least two decades old. Business is so lost in using old technology. No emphasis on employee appreciation and promotion.
    Very slow to change culture.

    Cons

CIO doesn't understand employee needs neither does Textron. Old Boy's culture. Zero diversity.

    Advice to Management

Please embrace diversity. Treat employees as assets don't use scare tactics of forcing employees to quit.
