    Thanx Response

    Sep 3, 2018 – CEO

Without a lot of context here, it's hard to know how to respond. But given that the only departures we've had recently are from our Sales Development team, I will make an assumption. Sales is hard so... More

I worked at Thanx full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great product with the potential to change the industry.

Truly inspiring, brilliant people that will bleed with you in the trenches. You will not be the smartest person in the room, and that should excite you.

    Great onboarding and generous ramp.

    Cons

VP suffocates all dissenting opinions and deliberately covers up glaring issues stopping employees from succeeding.

Quotas are outrageous to achieve when go to market strategy is constantly changed and narrowed in scope, leads are overworked and under-replenished, and too much time is spent in meetings scheduled right in the middle of best call times.

    Advice to Management

Have a better finger on the pulse of the Denver office. Great people are leaving due to the lack of open-mindedness and shocking lack of nimbleness (considering this attribute is a cornerstone of a startup) that exists at the very top.

Consider great people leaving a chance to reflect on the business instead of simply chalking it up to "startup life" or letting yourself believe they just weren't right for you simply because they weren't happy. This is a poor approach to relationships, and an even worse approach to business.

I say all of this with a love for everyone I worked with and a legitimate desire for Thanx to change the game. I very much hope this review does some good. Best of luck, Thanxers.

I worked at Thanx full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great product.
Helping small businesses generate realistic returns is fulfilling.
    Great ROI from the product.
Great people on sales and SDR teams.
Great ramp cushion to ensure you can focus on onboarding.
Forecast meetings start out supportive and positive. That all changes.

    Cons

VP runs everything and the middle management team has no say.
    Stressful work environment.
    Unrealistic quotas.
Misleading information in the interview process. Little room for growth. Going through all of the typical start-up woah's and not handling it well at all.
Ahead of the market with the product we offer and businesses don't understand the true value long term.
    Imbalance in territories.
    Constant change when people leave.

    Advice to Management

The leadership team needs a major shake up. Transparency goes a long way. Assess and use the talents and good ideas of your people. Clearly holding the reins too tight is not getting the company where it needs to go. Don't stifle people who want to help.
