I have been working at The ALS Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I have joined the ALS Group since Feb 2018 as an intern. It was a really good opportunity to learn the real business life. It is fast-moving and full-energy company. You can work with terrific people and get a comprehensive training. In addition, it is advantage to work in a small business that we can be involved in a lot of area and find out which is your favorite or be good at. Therefore, it is a really smoothly beginning of the career path. I have received the return offer in November 2018 and started my full time Technical Assistant in Feb 2019. I have worked directly with the Account Manager and CEO. They are amazing person. CEO is really professional and experienced. He would like to express his expectations clearly and provide his guidance during the work process. The management team also organized several training sessions for employees. These are really good opportunities to improve the professional skills. In November 2019, I have passed the NJ property and casualty producer license exams and also get promoted to Risk Analyst. Furthermore, one of the most good experience in the ALS Group is team leader/ management team are really appreciated your hard working. Also, they are happy to see your growth and improvement! I have read some negative reviews in this website. I don’t want to judge these but just wanted to express what I have noted. If you work hard and try your best on daily work, you will get benefit and improve yourself.

    Cons

I don't have any cons to contribute.

I worked at The ALS Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The biggest pro is that you can voluntarily leave.

    Cons

Owner demonstrates an ignorance and arrogance that is unparalleled in the annals of management consulting. The owner, his partner and son actually know very little about risk management. They tout a credential "CRIS" - Construction Risk & Insurance Specialist that tests knowledge through unproctored, open book testing - so anyone can get it. They have, in my humble opinion, zero respect for the risk management profession as evidenced by how they treat their employees. It is a professionally stifling environment.

I worked at The ALS Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    None, don’t waste your time.

    Cons

I believe the owner and “his entourage” enjoy the revolving door . It makes them feel better belittling and firing people. They can’t manage and run a business like normal professional people. If they didn’t disparage and fire people they will not feel ok. They like action in this office, lol. They should make a movie about this office, a horror one will do the job. I believe Sigmund Freud himself can’t solve their issues.

I worked at The ALS Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

There are no pros to working for this family owned business. Nepotism at its best and no one is trained properly. One or two insurance experts within the organization (of 15 people) and the rest are sweat shop workers.

    Cons

Minimum required hours per week is and has always been 55/60. They will not mention this in your interview. Also, do your research. Check with former employees by using Linkedin. Longest tenure is 10 months (for a 25 yr old company), that's alarming. DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU ACCEPT A POSITION HERE.

I worked at The ALS Group

    Pros

Very nice people, but be carful who you trust.

    Cons

Poor management. Hiring manager doesn't give complete details on job description. They bate and switch. One thing is explained, but when your hired it's all a different story.

I worked at The ALS Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

None. The place is a shoot by the hip company. No planning, no growth no opportunities. This is a poorly run group - I don’t dare say company.

    Cons

Place is a modern day sweatshop. Long hours and for no reason at all. Not enough business to support that kind of commitment.
