I worked at The Acadia Corporation full-time (Less than a year)
People from around the country come here to work, so all the employees have a lot in common which makes for good friendships. The managers were all very reasonable and easy to get along with. Also, a lot of people lived right in the national park and were near to all the hiking trails and beautiful scenery.
Though the pay isn't phenomenal, you can pick up open shifts in any of the company's other stores.
The main issue for me was that you're dealing with tourists all day long. It would get exhausting since people don't always act logically when on vacation. Also, Bar Harbor is a cruise ship town, so at the peak of the season, you're getting 3-4 ships in a day. So it gets very, very hectic for a few hours each day.
There isn't a lot of room for advancement, but you do get a raise each season you return.
The management was great, housing is pretty decent, and the location is good.
It was mostly a positive experience. Working long hours during the busy part of the season was the only downfall
