    Pros

Great writers and reporters. Good co-workers
Amazing parent company that keeps it afloat

    Cons

Old school management style of watching the clock vs. performance.
Creates false sense of culture and team collaboration through weekly 'sales rallies'
The chosen ones do what they want despite sales performance while others work their tails off.

    Advice to Management

    Reward results not brown-nosing
Focus on your products not reselling other vendors

I have been working at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great company plenty of opportunities. They often promote from within rather than outside hiring which was a huge plus for me

    Cons

Customer service is not great, often dealing with disgruntled customers. Other than that nothing else I can think of that I didn't enjoy

I worked at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There is a cafe downstairs and rooms for mothers to pump. The health benefits are very good because it is a Cox owned company.

    Cons

Location and traffic are horrible. "clock in, clock out" mentality. If I wanted that I would not have gone to college and stayed in retail. They are so antsy and scared people aren't working that they make people feel micromanaged. You have a badge and are asked why you left at 5:24 and not 5:30. It makes you want to be a clock watcher...because they are. They also do not train you on product and have a wonky insertion order process.

    Advice to Management

Create a trusting culture that mentors and helps your reps not make them feel they are walking on eggshells from the moment they start. Create servant leaders that will create servant sellers for your clients.

Always changing direction with a high emphasis on selling digital outside AJC.

    Advice to Management

Focus on the core and what separates you from your competitors.
