I worked at The Atlantic Remodeling (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I have many friends in the industry and this was the best comp plan by far. Company offers an intense, 3 week "boot camp" for initial training so it weeds out the weak but prepares the rest for the real deal. Always paid every dollar I was owed. I know many of my co-workers actually never took the time to learn the nuances of the commissions and just complained about it. And great leads. The Red Cent Guarantee made it awfully easy to buy...

    Cons

Personally, I Don't think daily meetings/training is necessary for veteran, senior reps. And sadly a simpler comp plan would probably help the sales force although I know it would probably pay less.

    Advice to Management

Love your interview process - very thorough, unlike most in this industry. Love the comp. Even the intensive training. I just lied. But it was very very helpful. Best training I have ever received. Maybe loosen the tie and just relax a bit.

I worked at The Atlantic Remodeling part-time

    Pros

The only pro was you could kind of choose your own schedule

    Cons

    you harass neighborhoods
there is so much more that I hated that I decided to quit after one day
All my other friends quit and only some stayed longer than 2 months

    Advice to Management

Stop going to the same neighborhoods so often, customers hate that

Sales room can be like a locker room, great comradery

    Cons

Leadership can be very moody and erratic
Forced to put homeowners in uncomfortable sales situations
Made to berate non-buyers, logic people

    Advice to Management

Tone down on the hard sell, this is not boiler room

    Pros

If you enjoy an unprofessional atmosphere and like working with a bunch of immature kids, and choosing your own work schedule and if you are naturally a jerk and enjoy harrassing homeowners, this might be your dream job.

    Cons

Very unprofessional college kids going door to door harrassing homeowners at all the wrong times. People come home from a long day of work, last thing they need is a college frat kid harrassing and nagging you to sign up for estimates.
Everytime I needed to contact my manager he would never answer or reply my text unless he needed to tell me something.
The pay is $10 which normally is pretty good. But considering you going door to door and harrassing homeowners thats pretty embarrassing for only $10.
I still have not been paid for my referrals yet when that was a extra bonus promised when I first was hired.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees what you promise you would pay them. Its no wonder you guys only hire college kids because you can only get over on these dumb little kids now days.

If you plan to draw in customers without getting cops called on you every neighborhood you go, try but not pressuring the homeowners.
Remember people can always tell when your desperate and trust me atlantic remodeling is very pushy and desperate

    Pros

The pay was great, you got to pick your own schedule every week. you also got paid every week. The holiday schedule is good as well.

    Cons

Upper Management was extremely rude to all employees, no sense of loyalty, work in poor weather conditions, the try to deduct pay for anything.

    Advice to Management

    Stop being so abrasive

    Pros

They "let" you play ping pong in the back while you sit around waiting for your lead every day.

    Cons

Worst Boss ever. He is more interested in making his Bentley payment than making payroll. They actually put adds out saying they pay sales reps 200K per year. Complete fabrication. Also be prepared to pitch their scripted lies to every customer in order to sell them on super high pricing, and hope they don't get any other estimates. Every time they get other estimates they cancel with Atlantic.

    Advice to Management

    Go jump.
