I worked at The Bancorp full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    The location and the diversity

    Cons

The management in AML/BSA is under qualified and has no respect for the regulation of the industry or the employees who actually try to do what is right. They will not staff appropriately and they refuse to do what is right. Hence they still have a consent order.

    Advice to Management

Get your ducks in row or out of pond and for the rest of us who do care about the law....It will catch up

I worked at The Bancorp full-time

    Pros

Free parking and some nice co-workers

    Cons

The management across the board was incompetent, especially the Compliance Management. There was a woman who headed the BSA/Sanctions compliance team who was so incompetent and fired anyone in her path if she felt threatened. Yet, despite being criticized by the regulator, the Bancorp executive team simply protected and even promoted her.

    Advice to Management

STOP REWARDING INCOMPETENCE. Look at a manager's track record, including the trail of dead bodies, and DRAIN THE SWAMP. All that glitters is not gold. See past bad managers' snake-oil sales pitch, bad excuses for failure and start holding managers accountable. The reason why the bank is being so heavily investigated and scrutinized is because it is obvious that there is something very bad happening as a direct result of BAD, DISHONEST MANAGEMENT. Remove your blinders!

I have been working at The Bancorp full-time

    Pros

There are no longer any pros to working here.

    Cons

Continuous compliance issues; Senior management is aloof; working environment is cut-throat; promotions are based on "perceived popularity"; losing good employees consistently; instability; inappropriately close cliques in positions "around the table"; morals went out the window.

    Advice to Management

Cut your losses, open your eyes and see that the people you have in management positions are not qualified. Allowing inexperienced employees with no knowledge or desire to understand the business, and blindly accepting their promises to cut expenses will further increase compliance/regulatory risk. Investigate who you have making decisions if you want to truly pull this bank out of the regulatory nightmare it's in - that is if you really intend to turn this bank around.

I have been working at The Bancorp full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Interesting clients and some innovation. Good employee base outside of leadership.

    Cons

A lot of recent very anti-employee changes and sentiment. Expenses are required to be on personal cards for all employees except senior leadership. Some of the flexibility that had existed has been eliminated. Broad layoffs and subsequent attrition have left existing employee base with a lot more work and the same or less compensation. Employees are seen largely as dispensable and replaceable. No opportunity for growth.

    Pros

The Pay and Flexibility was good.

    Cons

There are so many other great banks to work for... just run from this place. Horrible management, soooo much gossip in the office, crab in the bucket mentality. They Recently had major lay offs, stocks are worthless, senior management uses profanity and makes threats on conference calls, department of labor visited and cut everyone a check because the hours put in for over time was ridiculous. What ever you do... do not work here!

    Advice to Management

    Respect your employees
    Hire qualified management

    Pros

New CEO is driving change and causal dress code

    Cons

The benefits offered meet minimal requirements and the Human Resources Dept and PTO are horrible

    Advice to Management

Continue to drive change, enforce accountability, evaluate the lack of benefits and pto offered and implement a bonus program

All the coffee you can drink! For now.

    Cons

Too many to list, they don't pay well so talent doesn't arrive or stay.

    Advice to Management

You have to pay to keep talent. Also update Glassdoor Betsy isn't CEO.
