I have been working at The Bancorp full-time

    Pros

Good experience with payments and Fintechs. You’ll see a lot of negative reviews from people just disgruntled about the change in management but if you look at the earnings they’ve beat estimates the past several quarters so things are improving. Management is full of humans - generally they are good people just trying to make a living. CEO is trying to build a culture - small company means you rub shoulders with top executives regularly. Met the CEO several times he has always been a charming and friendly individual showing genuine concern for his employees.

    Cons

Turnover and benefits aren’t the best but people mistakenly compare them to the last big bank they came from so they incorrectly compare the small company against a big company.

I have been working at The Bancorp full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

-It is a job. Be happy you're employed -It's banking, and many of the skills you will learn are transferrable to other banks -Many lower level people are very friendly and helpful -C suite has done a good job in terms of profit and revenue after several years of lackluster performance and seemingly never-ending consent orders -Holiday party

    Cons

-Ineffective middle management. Many would rather spend their time micromanaging and demeaning their employees than working on their respective job function -Antiquated IT systems/practices. Most computers are several years old -Heavy turnover. They are pretty quick to fire VP's and above for "underperformance" -Minimal raises (Less than cost of living adjustments) -No bonuses for non-revenue driving departments -Benefits are not very good compared to other banks in DE (No maternity leave) -Work/life balance is very dependent on department and function. They will likely tout their "flexibility" during the interview process, yet some departments strongly encourage it and some don't allow work from home at all

    No opinion of CEO

    I worked at The Bancorp

    Pros

I wish I could think of a pro.

    Cons

I’ve never seen a company with such a high employee turnover especially for a company that has less than 700 people working for them.

I have been working at The Bancorp full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

A job with a paycheck. Free coffee.

    Cons

Very expensive health insurance. PTO is accrued every paycheck. No sick time. No maternity/paternity leave. Crappy Short term disability benefits. Crappy management. They hire degrees over experience. Unfair workloads. No raise or bonuses. Once you are employed they expect you to work the job and never look elsewhere. I applied for multiple positions within The Bancorp and never even got an interview or an email from HR. They'd rather bring in an outsider who knows nothing about the business then promote within.

    Pros

Not that I can think of.

    Cons

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Their vacation policy sux, they dont have paid parental leave. Hear through the grapevine they were working on it but that was like 2 years ago and still nothing. There are no chance for advancement, no year end bonus and the performance evaluation is a joke and waste of time for everyone. Upper Management doesn't care about employees moral, HR department are total incompetent. Plz do urself a favor and stay AWAY from that place !!!!!

I have been working at The Bancorp full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

There are no pros I can think of

    Cons

Management has no clue about what goes on in the bank regarding systems, projects and hiring skills are lacking. The systems that the bank uses are very antiquated and they do not work properly. Mangagment does not support the employers which equals failure and the customers are the ones suffering. They recently laid off many employees and morale is in the floor. I can go on and on, but no one listens internally. If you decide to apply for the bank please do your due diligence, because your career depends on it.
