I worked at The Beach part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I learned a lot from my experience working at The Beach. It is definitely quite different from when I worked there but the atmosphere is the same. The company has good core values that they pass on to their employees.

    Cons

When my employment was terminated, I simply did not get the letter requesting that I return. It had apparently been sent to me but due to a simple mistake in following up on their part, I had to find another job.

    Advice to Management

Please continue to maintain the family atmosphere, promote teamwork and instill the core values of the company in your employees. The training methods employed were certainly memorable as a learning, bonding and team building time. Thank you.

    Pros

Shifts are five hours long from 7AM until noon 3-5, days a week. Two or three hours of hard work in the morning then easier duties for the remaining time.

    Cons

Very low pay. Very little recognition. Hard to get a lot of hours. Sometimes can get very monotonous and boring.

    Advice to Management

Give employees a little recognition for their hard work and effort. Especially when they complete a difficult task that others would not want to do.

    Pros

As far as jobs as a lifeguard, the Beach Waterpark is an excellent place. You will meet a ton of people who are very sociable and open to making your experience a lot of fun.

    Cons

The cons are pretty similar to any lifeguard job. The pay isn't very good compared to some other places though. Like many other lifeguard jobs though, I found it boring and not very much variety.

    Pros

The Beach offers great experience for Lifeguards

    Cons

The pay is less than Living Wage for a critical position

    Advice to Management

Build another slide for kids under 45" tall and put some time and money into fixing the park up. Recommend repairing wood throughout the park and stain the wood; work on landscaping around the Kokomo Lazy River and modernize the facility.

I worked at The Beach part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Get to learn how to work around customers, learn how to use register. High variety of workers. Coworkers were great.

    Cons

Customers are highly rude and managers will barely come around to help/check on you. General Manager was highly rude and didn't make anyone's job easier.

    Advice to Management

Give returners a raise, I went back after 2 season and I was paid minimum wage... It was rough. We put up with the BS of the company, extra money would've been nice.

    Cons

-Management was awful. Was told that we are easily replaceable because they had a stack of resumes.

    Advice to Management

Treat them with a moderate amount of respect.
