Pros
Nice offices if you're at HQ, product benefits like 21-day fix & Shakeology.
Cons
High stress, high turnover, a lot of throwing people under the bus to save your own job. Company still functions like it thinks it is a startup when it is a mid-sized company. Creates logjams at certain desks.

Only has one oar in the water

Some good people. Decent offices with on-site gym, snacks, smoothies, vitamins and supplements. Competitive salaries and benefits.
Cons
As many recent reviews have pointed out, the company just laid off hundreds due to financial planning that significantly missed the mark. Mostly to blame is the bottoming of Beachbody's bread and butter business, 1-800 numbers and infomercials. This leaves the company with little to rely on but their multi-level marketing business. Sadly, it seems that Beachbody is settling in as just another health/shake/lifestyle pyramid company. Working here used to be great, but not so much any more. It’s probably OK if you are a newbie; you may learn a few things. Beyond entry-level, you will have to navigate the politics and the nepotism, play the yes-man role, and simply muddle along with rote, uninteresting work. Turnover is high and morale is low, especially so since the layoffs. Additionally, it feels like there are 100 VPs managing the work of 200 Directors who manage the work of 50 people who actually get stuff done. The organization is extremely top-heavy, and many in upper management are unqualified for their roles.

Pros
They lure you in with bonuses and workouts and free shake stuff. They tell you they're cool and that everyone is nice. They tell you you'll be able to move up in a decent fashion. The con to all of these pros is they're not true.
Cons
Management has no insight as to what is actually going on on their teams. Management is too busy making a name for themselves, walking all over their employees, and taking credit for things for there to be any type of camaraderie. You never get your full bonus (10% of a crap salary is still a crap bonus) - yet they pay coaches over 6 digits a year to do nothing but post on social media about challenge packs. If it wasn't for the corporate office, the coaches would have nothing - so why not compensate everyone equally? They have no loyalty to those who have helped build the business - letting them go with no other thought. The turnover rate is extremely high - they will either lay you off (saying they had a hard year, but actually earned more money than the year previously and are paying coaches 5 digit bonuses) or you will leave due to the lack of respect, organization or leadership. Just don't work here. And if you do, go for a month and then come back, read this and it'll say 'I told you so.' (And they made me edit these cons before allowing me to submit - so that should say it all.)

Rapid growth but not as healthy as it appears
Jun 8, 2016 - Anonymous Employee in Marina del Rey, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Casual attire, access to gyms.
Cons
Rapid growth in recent years has created a culture of instability, with much turnover at high levels and top managers who are ill-prepared to absorb such change. Departments operate in silos while a supportive sense of community between employees is not fostered by many senior leaders. A competitive environment where deliverables and the bottom line far outweigh the importance of thriving and engaged employees.

Pros
Great attention to employee experience if you are not working in any of their tech departments.
Cons
High turnover and bad morale in their tech departments.

Good culture "perks" people are friendly, but leadership is sorely lacking

On site gyms, access to workout programs and supplements. Health & Fitness motivation helps. The Coaching business is absolutely great and definitely changes lives.
Cons
The high turnover rate here is not a myth. -Bad upper and middle management -Lack of career opportunities -Unqualified management -Poor processes -Lack of planning/poor vision -Overly political -Lack of appreciation for employees -Lack of professionalism Good employees often find themselves being pushed out due to insecure and inexperienced 'leaders', or being forced to leave after experiencing burnout. There are several hard working employees that produce good work and results, but unfortunately, this tends to mask the problem of bad management. Example? Good results doesn't mean management is doing a good job. The working environment is very conducive to lazy managers, more so than anywhere else I've seen. Upper management accepts results at face value because in theory it's apart of the whole 'team mentality' Unfortunately, this means that they fail to address or notice the deficiencies in middle management. Entire teams are 'performing well' on the backs of one or two employees that actually go above and beyond. The complete inability for upper management to address or assess their management problem has created an environment with a lack of incentive to continue producing good results. This when combined with poorly trained management will make it hard for Beachbody to retain great talent in the long term. In addition, certain upper level management individuals were assigned to departments they are not equipped to run efficiently, or are simply unqualified, which in the long run will cost the company a lot more. But decisions do not seem to be based on any long term planning or strategy. It's important to note that every company will have their own internal political problems. However, in this case politics often takes precedence to actual work being done. It's a shame, they have great core values, it could be great, but they have to stop operating like a startup. There's no more excuses.

Good benefits are all I can really say about this company. Yes you get the full beachbody program access and nutrition but that’s about it..
Cons
Managers have a huge turnover here.. expect to be thrown into a huge mess of work and expect to do all the work on your own since you’ll probably have a new boss every couple Months.
