I worked at The Body Shop full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Opportunity to grow, decent pay, benefits and 401k, they try to promote from within, fun team work environment, customers are generally fiercly loyal.

    Cons

No matter if you met all your personal goals if the store did not you can not get an excellent review and a decent raise, always had to work a closing shift and one weekend day a week even being the store manager.

    Advice to Management

Minimize conference call times, make sure that it's not the same information regurgitated weekly so that managers value the calls instead of dreading them as a huge waste of time.

I worked at The Body Shop full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The customers are all very loyal, kind, appreciative, and friendly! The salary is good, not great...but the benefits are high and that helps bring total compensation to a decent level. WONDERFUL organization to work for and be affiliated with.

    Cons

The normal retail "ughs" apply to working at The Body Shop just like any other place. But the most frustrating aspect for most is the constant floor sets, store rearranging, AND the NONEXISTENT extra couple hours allotted for the week to get it done. NO O/T allotment at all.

    Advice to Management

Not many people that work at The Body Shop- from employees to Managers have any real complaints- except trying to make your weekly schedule with not even hours to appropriately staff the store, is frustrating.

I have been working at The Body Shop full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great products. Values are truly reflected in what they strive to offer customers. Lots of gratis products, so you can really try them and offer your own experiences.

    Cons

There is "it's never enough" attitude from upper management. No "on the ground" support from upper management.

    Advice to Management

The hiring process needs to be streamlined and faster. And higher pay to attract and retain candidates.

I worked at The Body Shop part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Loved the ethical supply chain and focus on sustainability.

    Cons

Pressure to sell and increase sales skills to meet sales target took precedence over making sure we took care of the customer, though maybe that was just my boss.

    Advice to Management

The sales skills training felt pretty artificial.

I worked at The Body Shop part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's great for someone who is outgoing and loves skincare because it is a sales position, it's been a few years since I worked there so it was 9.00 an hour then, I definitely don't think it's still 9 probably 11$ an hour.

    Cons

You are by yourself alot which makes taking a break hard, if you smoke you might not like that part.

    Advice to Management

Nothing to say, I enjoyed my time as an employee.
