I have been working at The Boston Beer Company (Less than a year)

    Pros

the interview process is very rigorous-but for a good reason-BBC hires extremely selectively because they expect exceptional performance from employees-it's honestly a huge reason why Sam Adams is #1 craft beer in the U.S.

    Cons

A lot of tests engrained in the process, you have to wait a while before you're actually offered a job

    Advice to Management

I would continue to be selective, but perhaps be a little more transparent or give more feedback to candidates so they don't lose hope or motivation

    Pros

Excellent training, great atmosphere and work environment. Accessibility of management. Opportunity to travel and learn about the beer industry.

    Cons

Inconsistent scheduling. Heavy work load. It seems that they are hiring faster than they will be able to keep up with promoting within the company.

    Advice to Management

Continue to plan a career path with employees and be realistic about time frames.

    Pros

Amazing company culture, great and supportive team within the Custom Services department. A very hard-working company that knows how to have fun too!

    Cons

Honestly, weren't any downsides I experienced. It was a great learning opportunity in an awesome space. After a six month internship I was sad to leave on my last day.

    Advice to Management

The pacing of critiques were effective, it felt like check-ins were happening at beneficial points throughout the internship. More independent projects would be great, the times when the other intern and I got to try new things creatively and be challenged a little more were some of my favorite times working there.
