I worked at The Buckle (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great discount, co-workers are awesome. Not your typical retail store where you are stuck in one part of the store for your whole shift. Good leadership, you get to know your area and district leaders and you also can travel to different stores.

    Cons

Hours (long), need to be "outgoing" to be considered for management, work weekends, younger staff so there is drama that goes along with them.

    Advice to Management

Management is very hands on, I dont think there is much improvement that needs to be done. The focus is really on the stores not on the head quarters which is very nice.

I have been working at The Buckle (Less than a year)

    Pros

Got a great product discount, fun work environment. When customers are enjoyable it makes your job very enjoyable. You get to be creative in putting outfits together.

    Cons

No work-life balance. Shifts were very long. You are scheduled for nine hours but end up staying about 10 and a half. Be careful, people will try and steal your sales. You must be very aggressive and have a positive attitude to succeed in this position.

    Pros

This company is great if you are looking to work in the retail world. They will push and train you to be your absolute best. The great discount doesn't hurt either.

    Cons

You are very much judged on your appearance. Multiple times I have seen coworkers sent home for not wearing makeup or having their hair up in a ponytail. If you are one of those people who makes sure they look their best before leaving the house then this will not be a problem for you.

I worked at The Buckle part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours for college students. If you are extremely outgoing, and possess basic intelligence, you will have the opportunity to make up to $20 with the commission structure in BTS & Christmas seasons.

    Cons

Training was fast, and it was sink or swim. This caused a high turnover rate. Pushing of the Buckle card to people obviously not in need of another line of credit on their financial history was taxing on the soul.

    Advice to Management

    Grow baby, grow.

    Pros

Relaxed work environment, with fun and exciting people.

    Cons

Hourly wage was extremely low. Worked hard and never got a raise. They had to employ 2 workers to complete the work I had done on a weekly basis.

    Advice to Management

Compensation needs to be much higher.
