I worked at The Buckle part-time

    Pros

    40% off clothing
Sales Associates were really fun and kind

    Cons

Micro management is a big issue, manager is very pushy about sales, couldn't have a natural conversation with a customer because she was always critiquing you and lingering over your shoulder.

Probably the most unrealistic and annoying boss I've had. This location is very slow, but still wanted you to meet a high number of sales.

Pay is basically minimum wage except during holiday seasons and "lucky days"

    Advice to Management

Advertise the position as mostly Sales.
    Increase associate pay
    Stop micromanaging associates
Ask buyers for better styles of clothing

I worked at The Buckle part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Ability to earn huge paychecks

    Cons

Lied about hours, extreme pressure from management, time consuming

    Advice to Management

Ease off the employees, customers will only get so much stuff. Customers either hate or love this store from pressure

I worked at The Buckle part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The only pros were the employee discount and a few nice teammates.

    Cons

You only get 3% commission, hourly pay is $4.50, you have to wear buckle clothing which means majority of paychecks go to keeping your job, in order to use your discount you have to spend a minimum of $50, management is no good, Teammates and leaders talk behind each others backs, it was just an awful experience. I'm glad I cut my time there short. The amount of work you have to put in for such little pay is not worth it.

    Advice to Management

Quit making your own rules on a $50 minimum limit to use employee discount. Also, it is against the law to only have a 30 minute lunch break if you're working 8 hours or over.

I worked at The Buckle part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

40% off and it's a super vibey place

    Cons

This is completely from my personal experience and the shared experience of a few others. Depending on how well you learn your stuff the better the management will treat you. It was like high school 2.0. If you didn't know exactly which jeans were in each order of fit they would call you out in meetings and won't move on until you can name all of their jeans and fits. There were a few cool store leaders, but the actual management didn't care about you unless you led in sales. Buying into Buckle is the same as drinking the grape kool-aid. It's not for everyone, but once you're hooked and you sell a lot, theres no turning back. They keep a lot of their staff because of the potential to sell.

I worked at The Buckle full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Cute clothes high prices good store location like the brands

    Cons

Multiple complaints about managers not resolving customer complaints, sides with the kids that work there the customer is NOT right and for that they go shop at The high end retailer next door where the customer IS right. Adults acting like a teenagers even the middle aged customers are high fived like kids, they don't like it and they say it.

    Advice to Management

    Fresh faces in the store

I worked at The Buckle part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Large discount on the clothing, basically get to be somebodies personal shopper

    Cons

Even with large discount on the clothes, I was not able to afford the clothing there (though I still dressed in a style like it could be from there),
Paid under Washington state minimum wage by almost $2.00,
Was talked badly about and rumors spread by management like I was in high school again,
Management would talk badly about co-workers/employees in front of other employees (including me),
I was told by management to "flirt with the mexican guys" because they spent the most money & bought store credit cards
Co-workers constantly 'stealing' customers and taking your commission on sales,
was told I was full-time when applied, but only got part-time hours and out of no where didn't receive hours anymore and when I tried to contact management the were conveniently never in the store

    Advice to Management

Do not talk badly about employees to other employees around other employees

    Pros

    - They play good music
    - Employee discount is okay

    Cons

    - Pay is horrible
    - You have to push product onto your customers
    - No life/work balance
    - No team work since part timers are commissioned

    Advice to Management

Store Manager needs to not be lazy in which she stays behind the register and take everyone's sales and commission. Not cool!!!

    Cons

    - I witnessed the manager with my own eyes talking down on me to another employee
    - You are forced to push things on people and even after you've done all you can do you are shamed for it
    - Very fake, shady sales team
    -TERRIBLE PAY!!!
