    Pros

Kari Smith is amazing. Lots of great training and tools.

    Cons

Pay is minimal unless working for a higher volume location. Frowned upon if you work less than 60 hours a week.

    Advice to Management

    Re-evaluate some district managers.

    Pros

    40% discount
    Meet all kinds of people.

    Cons

Lucky to get 1 weekend off a month.
From October- January you work every weekend because of holidays. The pay is NOT good for how hard you work. As a key holder you are expected to approach shoplifters, they tell you not to but then get mad if you don't... they keep nothing confidential. Everyone knows everybody's business. Most of the store managers are fake, act buddy buddy but yet will throw each other under the bus before you can even blink an eye. Turn over rate is unbelievable.

    Advice to Management

Stop treating your employees like crap and maybe you will keep a good team. Rotate weekends, let your team know you appreciate them.

I worked at The Buckle part-time

    Pros

40% discount on everything in store.

    Cons

    underpaid, long hours, rude management

    Advice to Management

People have things that happen in their lives, be more understanding. Also, don't lie to your employees and say someone resigned when really they were unfairly fired. Shady workplace full of shady management with fake smiles on their faces.

    Pros

Discount on clothing. Training is extensive but gives pretty good skills that can transfer easily to other career paths.

    Cons

Everything else. No work life balance. No opportunities to move up. Terrible hours.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees a little better.

I worked at The Buckle full-time

    Pros

Working in retail you get what you expect. Good working experience but not a good place to start a career.

    Cons

Retail is changing so many locations can not compete to keep up with these changes. The style of clothes is outdated.

I worked at The Buckle part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great team relationships. Everyone is kind of family. Customers and employees. Great discount. Fairly relaxed and chill atmosphere. Lots of training and one on one with management and other associates.

    Cons

The pay is terrible if you're only looking for part time 15-20 hours a week. To really break in the commission you have to invest a lot of time inside and outside building a clientele. You basically have to want to make it your life's goal to be at this store. They urge you to contact your regulars on slow days to come in and shop to make up for lack of traffic flow. You feel pressured to sell. It is also A LOT to learn. For someone who has no idea about jeans or jean fits it will take you a few weeks to get the hang of it, but they expect you to have it down the first Saturday you work.

    Advice to Management

A higher base pay will bring people wanting to work and truly sell your clothes.

I have been working at The Buckle part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

40% off, sometimes 60% off certain brands. Fast paced environment.

    Cons

Work/Life balance is not good. Must work weekends and holidays. Management takes advantage of employees working weekends and take several Saturdays and Sundays off.

I worked at The Buckle part-time

    Pros

Flexible scheduling, fun environment, good discount

    Cons

This position is mainly based on sales commissions. So you are forced to really push customers to purchase more in order to surpass your peers. I do not feel comfortable upselling people, so this job was not right for me. Also, the Buckle seems to be a tad behind in some styles. It took them forever to get Skinny Jeans and everyone asked which ones I was wearing and they were from Express because at the time Buckle did not sell any....

    Advice to Management

Get with the trends, advertise the position as SALES SALES SALES
