I have been working at The Buckle part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Amazing discount, great group of passionate people, very goal orientated.

    Cons

Long hours, can't use the discount on the opposite sex's merchandise unless it is for you, not easy to grow.

    Advice to Management

Be more willing to advance the people who want to grow within the company. Work with them more and find out what motivates them and help them grow.

I worked at The Buckle part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It was a very fun fast paced environment where I met a bunch of great people that I'm still friends with to this day. I learned how to sell without being pushy. I've heard a lot of stores are known for pushy sales reps but that just depends on the individuals in each store and how they're trained.

    Cons

During the holidays pay was great however throughout the year the pay could be very inconsistent depending on traffic in the store and returns would also go against you.

    Advice to Management

When people would ask me where I worked back then I was shocked that so many people wouldn't set foot in the store due to the fact that they didn't want to be annoyed while shopping by feeling forced to try on clothes they weren't interested in when they got in the dressing room.

I worked at The Buckle full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Gives a flexible schedule and growth opportunities. It was a fast paced working environment. I also enjoyed the additional clothing discount.

    Cons

Retail sales is very cut throat and you often have to compete to earn your commissions. The pay is fairly low.

    Advice to Management

    Thanks for being so enthusiastic

I worked at The Buckle part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Positive, fast-paced, collaborative environment. Commission-based pay can be positive (and negative). Awesome promos and employee discount. You can meet a lot of brilliant people and build a strong network.

    Cons

Hours can be demanding -- your busiest days are when guests are on vacation. Getting time off during holidays or weekends can be difficult.

I have been working at The Buckle part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The team I work with is awesome and the discount is fantastic. You learn a lot about customer service and sales. With the commission pay you get what you work for.

    Cons

It's hard work. You're on your feet for the whole shift and you're constantly moving. Pay being commission based means you have to work a lot harder to make a decent paycheck.

    Advice to Management

I would suggest providing a little more training on how to effectively make sales or introduce the Buckle Card to guests.

I have been working at The Buckle full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The team I worked with was like a family to me. I also gained exceptional customer service skills while working there.

    Cons

Management could have been more developed; the store manager played favorites which sometimes made it an unfair work environment. The turnover rate was high as well so we were constantly having to develop new teammates.
