I worked at The Buckle part-time

    Pros

40% discount on everything in store.

    Cons

    underpaid, long hours, rude management

    Advice to Management

People have things that happen in their lives, be more understanding. Also, don't lie to your employees and say someone resigned when really they were unfairly fired. Shady workplace full of shady management with fake smiles on their faces.

Everything else. No work life balance. No opportunities to move up. Terrible hours.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees a little better.

I have been working at The Buckle full-time

    Pros

This company offers a ton of great benefits and tools for learning. For the most part, the people you work with are super fun and friendly. You build such great relationships with your guests that turn into friendships. You get a good discount.

    Cons

If you dont have a good manager, this company can be hard to work for. Sometimes the leaders do not lead by example and will review you on your faults, when they have the exact ones. This company allows couples to work together which can be a conflict of interest to many and make things awkward at times.

I worked at The Buckle part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The harder you work to sell an outfit to a customer the more money you make because your paychecks based off of commission.

    Cons

Don't get as much commission after the Holidays.

    Advice to Management

Stay positive, don't be so rude to the sales associates.

I worked at The Buckle full-time

    Pros

Awesome leadership, marketing, selling, management, and customer service coaching. Great competitive pay and incentives, and you the way you can grow within and reach higher positions (even tho it is competitive) is fair. Lots of learning and lots of fun.

    Cons

Some stores have bad management teams (since each store is in some way [partially] managed in its own way by the SM chosen) and it is not fair.
Sometimes, no matter how good you are at selling or introducing product(s), customers won't buy no matter what.

    Advice to Management

Be fair with your team and appreciate it, show them respect by setting and example with your own behavior and performance. Don't reprimand or think less of people can't do something right if you, yourself, don't know how to do it either.

I worked at The Buckle part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

40% off discount. Commission was great during holiday season. Great leadership at my location. Room for advancement. Was given a raise for my hard work and leadership experience

    Cons

Due to commission atmosphere coworkers would steal sales/customers causing a lot of unnecessary drama. Forced to upsell when people clearly weren't buying.

    Advice to Management

No one likes a pushy sales person so stop teaching this method and have fun. There's many way to sale then to just focus products into people's dressing rooms.
