"Great short-term company if your resume is sub par. Do not work here long term."

I have been working at The CBORD Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Company is typically flexible on hours and letting employees work remote (full time or on a case by case basis) for different needs.
Unusally high degree of freedom to perform the job how you best see fit.
Long leash on letting underperforming employees stick around
    Low supervision.
Customer base is friendly and typically enjoy interactions with CBORD
    Will accept under qualified applicants

    Cons

Compensation is well below industry norms.
Management is usually inexperienced and in over their head. A lot of promises, visions, and sound business ideas are never followed up on.
Company has a serious pill and drug problem. I wish I was joking.

    Advice to Management

narrow your scope and focus on smaller goals that you can actually achieve.
Pay closer attention to the performance of your employees, customer satisfaction in particular, and compensate employees based on something more than blind metrics. A number of employees learned how to cater their work to the metrics while doing the bare minimum. These same employees look like all stars to management while the customers actively avoid them.

    Pros

Great co-workers and a new office.

    Cons

Roper only provided a president who is shared between 2 companies. The focus is on the bottom line and not on innovation or the employees. The company had its
1st layoffs in company history after years of growth and profit.

    Advice to Management

This company grew on the backs of its employees and strong values, not greed.

Great people - hard working and fun!

    Cons

Not many if you work hard and do your job!! If you don't it may take a while but management will figure it out.

    Pros

Excellent culture - worker bees are great. Love the collaboration and interest people have for each other - especially in the Support area.

    Cons

It takes SO LONG to get decisions made when upper management is involved. The impact on day to day work can be detrimental.

    Advice to Management

Streamline your decision making process - and get things like position requisitions approved or denied in a more timely fashion.

I have been working at The CBORD Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people who work here are fantastic, very invested in your success and become family quickly.
Easy accessibility to senior management--have had many questions answered by them and can call or e-mail with anything that pops up with a timely response/concern.
Work/life balance is great--work hard, play hard type mentality!
Flexibility--manager always works with us for any time off needed, dr. apts., unexpected issues that arise, always understanding!
Open concept floor plan and office--business casual atmosphere, not stuffy at all.
Compared to industry/national average PTO accrual and offerings is above par when combined vacation, sick, personal and holiday leave.

    Cons

It's all how you look at it--you can either focus on the positives or the negatives--in my opinion the positives far outweigh any negative experience I've had thus far in my career with CBORD.

    Advice to Management

Continue to listen and respect opinions of employees and good things will continue to happen as a result of that!

    Pros

Relax and do the same thing everyday, employees are great and become a family very quickly, good reputation in the market but no sure if this will stay for long !!!

    Cons

Managment are just a group of old ppl with no chance to accept changes, stupid license structure not to the clients benefits at all but the Managment are happy with the ALF guarantied revenue, very low salaries, almost zero benefit !!

    Advice to Management

Listen to the market and to your team before it will be too late

I have been working at The CBORD Group full-time

    Pros

    - The people you work with make it bearable.
    - Fairly relaxed environment, no lock-down on the internet, free to put in headphones and listen to music etc.

    Cons

    - The pay isn't fantastic
    - Little to no training for new techs
    - Yearly raises are 1 to 2%
    - Understaffing leads to heavy workloads and high stress levels

    Advice to Management

Hire more techs, raise wages, better benefits, develop a sound training program to bring new techs up to speed.

I have been working at The CBORD Group (More than 8 years)

    Pros

A lot of hard-working hourly employees. Decent work/life balance,

    Cons

Hourly workers are under-paid and under-valued. CBORD has Silos like none other. The company is more than less run by 2 or 3 Seniors.
Managers not trusted or empowered; they have no voice and are basically glorified paper pushers and people sitters.
Decisions seem to be made by a couple Sr. Execs. without involving middle management. Communication form Sr leadership down to departments is non-existent. Mentoring and encouraging professional growth is also non-existent.

    Advice to Management

Remove the silos, trim the levels of "management", invest in a good accounting system, overhaul HR. The best customer experience should begin with the internal customer. Most importantly - Don't allow one, close-minded, bias VP call all the shots.

I have been working at The CBORD Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Stable. Annual License Fees = jobs for the foreseeable future. An invested customer base is a good thing.

    Cons

Tough place to actually succeed. Products are developed in a silo and as a result two sets of dev folks could end up coming up with overlapping products. There is often lack of a clear roadmap for products and for the company as a whole. Senior Management is slow to make needed changes and the two different businesses (card systems and nutrition software) seem like they play by different rules.

    Advice to Management

Integrity. Do what you say you are going to do, when you say you are going to do it, every time.
