I have been working at The CBORD Group full-time

    Pros

As others have said it is the people you work WITH, not necessarily who you for.

    Cons

The company takes full advantage of employees by firing employees then passing the duties on to others and never compensating them for additional work that continues to keep piling on. They are notorious for under paying employees and not keeping with market values, but this does help upper managements numbers to parent company. Many employees work excessive overtime in order to keep projects and goals met to the point that they burn out. Management loves to share how well the company is but none of this passes down to employees.

    Advice to Management

If you need to restructure, I understand, but instead of eliminating good talent reallocate them. I understand some may not be up to par, but there have been many who are and could still be a huge asset to the company and that would go a long way to helping an already low moral. Stop claiming transparency when there is none. Though your non management employees are paid at poverty level that does not mean they are not intelligent and are unable to see through the rhetoric.

I worked at The CBORD Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Some excellent employees, hard working and dedicated and willing to put in the extra time and effort to get a job done right. Realization by new senior management team that the company had problems under former management that needed to be fixed. Good basic software products that have been working well in universities and hospitals for years. This is a good place to get a first job, then move on to a more stable company where one can build a real career.

    Cons

Major problem has been the "bull in the china shop" fashion in which new management team has tried to fix old problems. New CEO says he wants to be "transparent" and the company has a great future, then several weeks later he fires a dozen or more people, killing morale. Staff numbers are down substantially over the past year. New senior management team does not live anywhere near Ithaca, NY, so no company interest in the community in which CBORD is headquartered or in its local employees. President is a turnaround specialist brought in by CBORD's corporate owner. CBORD's basic problem is that it was sold a decade ago to Roper Technologies, whose focus is on rapid quarterly growth of earnings for Wall Street rather than the gradual, steady long-term growth of the company. Several company benefits have been cut since Roper purchased CBORD, further depressing morale.

    Advice to Management

Rebuild staff morale. Stop giving enthusiastic company presentations, to be followed within weeks by more staff layoffs. Staff needs to have some trust that there will be a better tomorrow to which they can look forward. Otherwise, what's the point of thinking of CBORD as anything other than "a job"?

I worked at The CBORD Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

A few departments have hard-working people (at least those who have survived the layoffs over the last year). However, everyone is looking to jump from this sinking ship, so the good ones are leaving.

    Cons

It is very apparent that upper management is planting positive reviews on here for prospective employees (and perhaps potential buyers).

Anything with a rating higher than 2 stars, most likely has been planted by upper management. For example, we had a company meeting not that long ago (August 2017) where an employee brought up "How are we going to get decent employee prospects to come here, with such terrible reviews on places such as Glassdoor.com?" HR took the question and gave a canned spiel and then the very next day, there was a review posted on glassdoor.com (see Aug 2, 2017, titled "Seriously, it's a fine place to work"), that reiterates what HR said to us at the company meeting. Such a joke - who are they fooling?

This company is circling the drain.

    Advice to Management

Why waste my breathe...they have a "plan" (which they say is transparent, but it's anything but) and don't want to hear what anyone else thinks.

So instead of advice to Management, my advice is to the current and future employees: look elsewhere!

I have been working at The CBORD Group full-time

    Pros

Just a (smaller than market value) paycheck. That's it. There are a few good people left here, but most have been fired or have escaped on their own.

    Cons

Just about everything that's important. What was once a vibrant, visionary and compassionate company is now a blind and leaderless cog in an uncaring corporate machine. CBORD is terminal. Run away!

    Advice to Management

Manage. Also, I suggest you stop writing fraudulent, positive reviews on this site. I mean , the "Sky is Clearing"? LOL. Your efforts are obvious, unethical and bad for business -- as usual.

    Pros

    Excellent manager until he retired.

    Cons

Worked for CBORD for about 10 years and company closed satellite office without giving employees severance package. Upper management only wants to see numbers and don't care about the employees.

    Advice to Management

    Cons

A shake-up in management recently has lead to a lot of unease
No longer any feeling of job security, despite assurances that those who work hard will be rewarded, many hard workers were fired.

    Advice to Management

Consider more carefully what resources you may already have, before slashing them to go find more.
