    Advice to Management

Create ways to make product into more of a service. Maybe through selling marketing services alongside the coupon.

I worked at The Campus Special as an intern

    Pros

    - Easy, quick money
    - Only a few weeks long every semester
    - Really fun and you make a ton of friends on campus

    Cons

    - Don't really learn much except team work and organization

    Advice to Management

    - Make tasks a little more challenging and/or teach us something!

I worked at The Campus Special full-time

    Pros

Lot's of fun to be had when building a startup, but as we now see it wasn't built to last. We were sold out and gobbled up by Chegg and dissolved soon after.

    Cons

Management constantly changing around, benefits took forever to be put in place, all moves made were to build up to the eventual exit of the CEO

    Advice to Management

    None, it's over.

I worked at The Campus Special (More than a year)

    Pros

This company did an amazing job training all new comers to the program. It was a great experience and management did a great job helping us succeed.

    Cons

The downside of working with Campus special is that it is B2B sales which can be tough for some. You have to be prepared to accept rejection. Also I was selling the advertising in a really bad market where there was a ton of competition

I worked at The Campus Special as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you anticipate a career in sales, the training and responsibilities associated with this internship are definitely what you are looking for. Although you only receive 4 days of training, it is a vigorous, all day process that involves role playing and tests on product knowledge. Also, it usually takes place somewhere awesome like Chicago or Atlanta. The internship will also help you build a strong network of professional connections who can benefit you in future endeavors.

    Cons

Like most sales positions, this company is results-driven. You will be held accountable for not meeting your goals with no excuses accepted. Micro-managed.

    Advice to Management

Dialing back the micro-managing for individuals who are performing well would be a good idea. The concept behind these products shouldn't be limited to summer; could be successful throughout school years.

I worked at The Campus Special full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

the people were great, made life long friends and connections. I've had two jobs since TCS and even though both jobs were at bigger and more well known companies neither are as fun as this one.

    Cons

it got political after the acquisition and things changed fast and we couldn't keep up. it was better the way it was before all this happened. free food was great even though i gained lbs.

    Advice to Management

not much i can say, wish things were the way they were before

I worked at The Campus Special as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Teaches sales techniques that can be carried throughout your career.
Although it's tough to get rejected by owners, it teaches you to build character, backbone and not let those types of things get to you.
    Fun conference to meet people.
Manger was extremely motivating and helpful.

    Cons

Lots of gas money, with little return.
It's hard to make your own hours/days - when your discouraged from the day before.

    Advice to Management

Be more clear with those that you're recruiting how much they actually need to put up in turns of money for the position. The amount of gas you use during this internship is insane.

I have been working at The Campus Special as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

It was a great way to get a jump start on a sales position. I got to do things the way I thought they would be successful. CEO is a great guy. I did very well but saw a lot of discouragement from others.

    Cons

Little supervision. If you are in a new market... Good luck.

    Advice to Management

Give New markets more of an advantage. Find a way to support those struggling.
