I have been working at The Carlstar Group full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good pay. Good Co-workers, management is slowly getting better, and plenty of potential to earn $60,000 plus a year!

    Cons

If you dont like overtime, or like to sweat and do manual labor please consider another place to work.

I worked at The Carlstar Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Pay is decent Good benefits There isn't too much else that's good.

    Cons

Negative environment. Management won't do anything about harassment going on. Management doesn't listen or care about you. It's lead by people who formerly worked together, therefore you will be an outsider. Management doesn't work with you if you have medical things that you need to take care of. Really can't think of anything good about this place. They are constantly having layoffs, so it's not a stable company.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees when there is harassment going on in the office.

I worked at The Carlstar Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing

    Cons

they pay more attention to number of tires produced than to number of people who resigned due to lack of safety, morale , ethics etc

    Advice to Management

your salary makes you blind in eyes and higher the salary you get the lower morale and ethics you get. Improve safety awareness, reduce political coercive authoritative overhead

I have been working at The Carlstar Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    The hours fit my schedule.

    Cons

Professional dress code even though half of he work is done in a non climate controlled warehouse. Management has absolutely no compassion for anyone below them. Management is condescending, rude. HR is the absolute worst I’ve ever encountered - anytime I’ve reached out to an HR member they take -days- getting back to me. Then they only answer via email and -always- CC management. Their temp to hire status is horrid....

    Advice to Management

Have some compassion for your employees. You stru around acing all high and mighty and treat the people below you like trash - management doesn’t exist without employees doi the physical work. Just because physical work doesn’t require a degree doesn’t make the people doing the work any less human. So stop treating people like they’re stupid. Actually listen to your employees when they try to talk to you - stop blowing...

I have been working at The Carlstar Group full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

I have witnessed first-hand this company go above and beyond to help its employees grow and develop professionally. Like most companies, it's all about how much effort you give - if you show that you care and truly want to expand your worth, the company will help you do that. Attitude is everything.

    Cons

It's private equity.. so there's not a ton of bonuses or pay raises happening.

    Advice to Management

More communication on task specific jobs would be great.

I worked at The Carlstar Group full-time

    Pros

Most of the time you will work 40hrs. During peak season you may earn more money because of all the overtime. The 401K plan is good.

    Cons

If they know you are a hard worker that will work you like a slave instead of promote you to another position. The pay raises suck! Don't expect more that a few cents. Medical family benefits are too expensive in comparison to hourly wages.

    Advice to Management

Don't trick employees into working harder by making false promises. If you are going to offer an incentive, actually follow through.

I have been working at The Carlstar Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

You'll make money, your fellow co-workers. You get insurance. That's about it. I really don't have anything else good to say.

    Cons

CONSTANT overtime...mandated. 3 people have died here in 3 years from heart attacks. Same things going on, 20++ days in a row. One guy just recently had a heart attack, had worked 30 days straight. Told me he's asked for a day off and they wouldn't grant it. This is THE WORST company as far as caring about the worker. They care about how many tires they can get out of you and THAT IS IT. I promise you. Blizzard outside?...

    Advice to Management

Get your white collar office tail out on that floor and talk to your workers. They know how to make things better. STOP making them live at the factory. Or you come in and stay there with them when they have to be there? Get yourself a taste of what it's like.
