I have been working at The Casery full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Easy Work

    - Low Stress Environment (esp. compared to fast paced jobs or customer service jobs)

    -Friendly Coworkers

    -Employee Outings

    Cons

    - Communication (occasionally)

    - No room for advancement, upper positions are only cut out for the people who majored in them at school or who have had solid experience in that field for a particular amount of time. Don't expect to "climb up the food chain" in this company, unless you are skilled with graphic design software or photo editing software such as Adobe Lightroom and you really want to design Iphone cases.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at The Casery as an intern

    Pros

    1. For me, it was a great place to kick-start my career as a Developer, plenty of work to do and the learning curve was huge.
    2. Lots of free snacks and coffee.
    3. Cool startup environment where even the CEO sits with you sometimes.

    Cons

No proper supervisor to help you or guide you.
You need to figure out things yourself, which was good for me.

I worked at The Casery as an intern

    Pros

The Casery promotes self-growth and emphasized a desire to hear all ideas from every level of employee. Very open-minded and management will listen to and quickly address any concerns.

    Cons

The company tends to tackle too many tasks at once. It leads to many confusing assignments and inefficient downtime.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at The Casery full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Not much besides having a small office space and snacks

    Cons

Not very transparent about issues. Turnover is incredibly high due to the fact that they use people and throw them off to the curb after their worth is sucked dry.

    Advice to Management

Should stop being indecisive and make concrete decisions

    Negative Outlook

    Pros

People are friendly, easy to get along with. Comfortable work environment.

    Cons

Got brought on board as a developer intern (the title of the position was generalized despite applying for a backend internship). They fill your time with tasks that are not related to development at all, more or less mundane tasks that could be done by people with no development experience at all. Tasks are given out by a supervisor with scarce technical experience in any sort of programming development. They sell the position to students saying that this internship will be paid, and then tell you that you will not be paid during a large, unorganized group interview. Would not recommend as of now, hopefully they will revise this "program" soon.

    Advice to Management

Stop asking for free labor from university students. Highly recommend structuring the internship program and have someone with relevant development experience leading the development teams.
