Former Employee - Child Care Attendant

I worked at The Child Center of NY part-time

    Pros

The bar for employment is set fairly low. As long as you show professionalism, a love of children, and a can do attitude, you're sure to get hired.

    Cons

Management team displays favoritism, job sites are poorly run, and responsibilities are often confusing since job sites are short staffed and you'll be wearing multiple hats. There's no clear cut method of measuring your success.

    Advice to Management

When making announcements keep what you're saying short and to the point so the children don't get bored. Be open to different styles of teaching, because not all children are alike and neither are Child Care Attendants.

I worked at The Child Center of NY full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Pays on time colleagues are positive people

    Cons

Management micro manages, over works, treats employees unfairly and extremely condescending

    Advice to Management

Never trade good workers for new management. A good company is built on good pay, positivity and appreciate. CCNY humanitarian nature was taken away when Health Home arrived. Everything became monetarily driven and no longer about the well being of the young people/clients
