I worked at The Children's Place full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You get great opportunities to grow, meet new people, absolutely loved my team, loved the other store managers in my district and my district manager.

    Cons

Not enough payroll, it's so much asked of you and in so little time to do it, then you get yelled at if you go over payroll. The scanners they use are soooo out of date, you have to poll them at least 3 to 4 times just to be able to scan the store or scan in shipment. You don't really receive any type of training either, I went in already being a store manager previously, but you know a new company, new policies, new procedures, and honestly it was kind of like "OH you've done it before!" It was like being thrown to the wolves, so everything I had to learn on my own basically, people would help if I needed it, but every time I called somebody it was always different ways to do ONE thing.

    Advice to Management

I don't really have advice for management , corporate however, invest in your people more, train them properly, give the hours to do it, more people would stay. Give better raises, do more incentives, give ALL team members a chance to win something. It's not fair that we all make days and goals, AS a TEAM, but only the store manager gets rewarded for it, it's been so many times I've taken my bonus I get and reward my team from it, because I feel like we worked as a whole to get it.

    Pros

Great opportunity to grow both personally and professionally.

    Cons

Overall structure and culture really creates a huge workload. Lack of tools to be successful in high caliber leadership roles.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your people. Train, develop and most importantly care for the leadership teams.

I worked at The Children's Place part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Made great friends, worked around my school schedule, flexible hours.

    Cons

Horrible pay, Horrible raises, Store managers do nothing, no future in this company

    Advice to Management

Store managers need to do more other then sit in the back room talking on there cell phones. When an associate comes to them with a problem or a situation it is not addressed at all. New coming employees have not been interviewed properly or barley interviewed at all they are not trained or told what to do by the manager. Corporate really needs to review there store managers and see if they really are qualified to be a manager at all. Other then that i love my associate friends and have accomplished a great deal on my own working with this company.
