I have been working at The Children's Place full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits Package paid time off allowance

    Cons

Unable to take Paid time off due to lack of coverage. You get 4 weeks of vacation a year and if your unable to take your vacation time due to needs of the business and store coverage you lose it.

    Advice to Management

Pay time off accruals out or allow managers to carry over into the next year. Managers should not be penalized for covering other buildings and losing their own vacation time.

    I worked at The Children's Place part-time

    Pros

    Got lead experience
    Had fun doing visuals
    Had an awesome team

    Cons

Management liked to blame others for something they did
We were a target store so we had to assume everyone was stealing
When I tried to switch shifts with a coworker my manager denied it because the girl I was switching with didn't know how to do promotions

    Advice to Management

    Be more understanding
    Take responsibility in your work
    Get to know your team
And don't talk trash about them to other coworkers

I worked at The Children's Place part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

decent experience - something to put on resume
    Generally rewards good employees

    Cons

    Minimum wage (which is expected)
Manager was rude to customers + employees, when I resigned (I gave an entire month notice) manager sent me home in the middle of my shift and said that was my last shift there. I gave a month notice to be polite and professional because I knew they needed to hire someone new. I even offered to help train them. This is after I proved an asset to the team and was regularly praised by the manager and LODs. Complete disregard for employees
I needed and expected that month income for rent

    Advice to Management

    Maybe care more about employees?
Generally rewards good employees but PLEASE make sure store managers are less caddy and actually care about employees

I have been working at The Children's Place part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Clothes are really cute. I have a boss that works as hard as everyone else.

    Cons

Really high paced for the amount of money you make. Constant changes, a lot of freight, customers not friendly with the clothes. Makes for a heavy workload. And upper management seems to have no idea what all there is to deal with on a daily basis yet expects miracles.

    Advice to Management

Go work in your stores sometimes. The fast paced ones. See what they are looking at. When the store manager doesn't have enough hours and people call in left and right, they are wearing the good people out

    I worked at The Children's Place part-time

    Pros

30% discount (even on sale items). Always busy. Time goes by fast.

    Cons

High stress, Very little training. Low pay. Not enough hours given for work expectations: price changes, floor sets, shipments, etc. Outdated POS systems that are not user friendly. Likely to work an unexpected double shift if there is a call in and you can't find a replacement.

    Advice to Management

Simplify! Make sure workload equals staffing so that employees can give more time to profit (customers). Customer interaction = sales.
