I have been working at The Children's Place part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The best part about the job is the staff. It is a good product at a good price. Good employee discount. Great job for Moms.

    Cons

They are cutting positions, pay and hours. Really have to push credit card. The different pricing between web site and store makes it hard to reach sales goals.

I worked at The Children's Place full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The discount is nice. Moving up in the company can be quick depending on work ethic.

    Cons

    Work/Life balance is impossible.
There's an impossible amount of work to complete and absolutely no payroll to complete it.
Pay rate is skewed for the amount of work asked of individuals.

    Advice to Management

Managers should really start to speak with their staff. Gain a collective perspective on everyone's workloads. It'll go a long way.

    Pros

The only pro is the employee discount, but definitely not worth the misery of the job. Cannot think of any more pros.

    Cons

Upper management definitely has a "look out for themselves" mentality. Will work you to death if it makes them look good. Picks they're "favorites " with associates and mgrs within their district and will do their best to push anyone out of the way to put the favorites in place. Zero life work balance.
Would put 0 in stars but can't. So 1 it is.

    Advice to Management

No advice. There's no help for this company.

I have been working at The Children's Place full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Get to learn a lot. Great first job to start out in retail. The management team and employees are usually very friendly.

    Cons

Customers usually complain about the prices all the time. Always asking for a coupon or if this item is on sale. Need to let the manager know numerous times what days you need off. You only know your schedule a week in advance. Very messy customers. be ready to fold clothes and do everything FAST! Management team loves it when you get credit cards but you get no commission for opening new accounts.

    Advice to Management

Need to be more organized and grant employees the time they need off.

    Pros

    Pay, customers, associates, discounts,
Other than that this companys culture is difficult if you like your life not job for you. Will spend 50-70 hours a week in store.

    Cons

Shipment,Stock, paperwork, payroll, no life balance, little to no training, unnessary floorsets and updates.

    Advice to Management

Transfer old clothes out to make room for new clothes. Stores would be so much easier to maintain and sale thru. Might actually get done with some of the shipment and paper work if 10 bundles of the same shirt wasnt sent out in 4 diffrent boxes.
