I worked at The Children's Place full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Position is very flexible when i need a day off.

    Cons

Salary is low. Never any hours to complete projects given by company. Usually one on one coverage. No breaks!!! not even 15 mins to yourself. I worked 10 hours 1 Sunday with no break. Please take my advice company stinks, not worth the headache.

    Advice to Management

The store need more hrs to get the work done in the store, so its not all on the managers.

I have been working at The Children's Place part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Honestly... there is none. Unless you have a kid/kids you get i believe 40% off.

    Cons

Im being given 5-9 hours a week and ive been there for a year.. and know how to do everything & do it very well... but new seasonal employees get 20 hours?? its crazy! customers are extremely rude and mess up everything, pay is terrible for what we deal with, too much shipment (even customers complain to me constantly about too much stuff/boxes), coworkers constantly talking down on each other and gossiping and just being rude ex. someone told me they hated my hair after i just got it done and i initially really liked it.. they will hire literally anyone... , Sales associates know more than our ASM..., theres days we have to stay till 2am or later just to get the store clean... this store is ridiculous...

    Advice to Management

Better pay, less shipment, listen to employees and customers suggestions, some sort of plan when it comes to cleaning like a night crew or people who specifically come in and do shipment, more careful interviewing process.

Very unrealistic expectations!! Stay away from working here. They burn you out!!! You think it will get better but the workloads are always heavy and they give you no hours. They expect you to do all this work with no hours and no help.

    Cons

    Pay and workload

    I worked at The Children's Place full-time

    Pros

the company has a big name
you learn a lot of what you can and cannot handle during stressful time

    Cons

commuting to new jersey is between 15 min to 1 hour depending on traffic
    overworked
during the busy season, my daily estimated work time was from 7am to 1am in order to get the majority of the work done
the merchant team submits the approvals of the production items late (mostly at 6pm) and you have to submit the approval emails to manufacturers the day off so expect to leave around 7/8pm.

    Advice to Management

Hire more people instead of pushing the employee to do two jobs

I have been working at The Children's Place full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The team in which you work with on a day to day. The relationships of the front line staff are great.

    Cons

This company continues to pride its self on continuing to grow and being the number one retailer for children’s clothing. Make no mistake, all of their success is on the backs of its associates. No matter what role you’re in there is no training that is given and absolutely no investment into the development of their people. There’s good and bad in every company. This company however is only bad.

    Advice to Management

Take some time to grow your people and invest in them. It’s. It enough to send them a box of cookies once a year saying “thanks” committed staff are not a right, they’re a privilege. Treat people better.
