I have been working at The Children's Place full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There was no pros working over here except you enjoy time off (work till 12 PM) during summer Fridays.

    Cons

This company is one of the worst company people I have ever worked on. It believes on nepotism and Hire and Fire policy. During joining, I didn't do enough research and none told me that people leaves TCP so frequently. After couple of weeks, I realized that every week you will meet new people and will not be able to current employees working.
Employees gossip that if you stay for more than 1 year, that is quite an achievement.

    Advice to Management

Did you ever a chance to look into your attrition rate? It should be around 75-80% per annum. There should be more employee friendly environment for people to perform.

I have been working at The Children's Place full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits, great team on the store level.

    Cons

Low pay, few hours and lack of respect from upper management. I recently worked at a store that closed. Our regional director came to the store to pick up some tables. The store was completely emptied out and cleaned so we could vacate the premises that afternoon. He walked in loaded up the tables and left without so much as a hello, thank you, or good luck. There were 3 of us in the store, exhausted from the huge workload, and we just looked at each other dumbfounded by the rudeness of this man. I myself had been with the company 12 years and put a lot of blood sweat and tears into the store. We would be written up or fired if we ever acted like that to a customer...same should hold true for those in upper management!

    Advice to Management

Treat others the way you want to be treated!

I worked at The Children's Place part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very sweet in-store management. Hours were flexible. There was wiggle room for moving up in the store. I was promoted within just a few months.

    Cons

There was no sense of security in the store. I was instructed by upper management not to call the police during a check fraud situation (but I did it anyway and was never thanked for having a check fraud ring put in jail). The management outside of the store is ridiculous. They have no idea what's going on inside their stores. They force you to change the store every other week. It's bizarre; I've worked other retail jobs and never moved merchandise as much as I did at TCP.

    Advice to Management

Stores should only change merchandising positions every quarter, not every other week. Get to know your employees and understand just what they're dealing with every day in the store.

I worked at The Children's Place full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The only thing I can think of is the PTO.

    Cons

Each year major lay offs are the only way the company stays afloat. If you have a soul, do NOT work here--you will NOT be successful. You will be constantly treated like garbage and blamed for literally anything that goes wrong.

    Advice to Management

Clean house of management--not the people actually doing the work.
