I have been working at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It really depends on the department and manager that you have. Over all the experience has been great

    Cons

Raises are not really based on your performance.
Management has old management ideals, and is hard to change or improve processes.
Moving between positions with a great gap of salary is impossible.

    Advice to Management

Great leadership principles are taught within the company, but there are not really applied in many, many cases.
There is a lack of recognition on what employees bring in the company, and raises are extremely hard to come by.

I have been working at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints full-time

    Pros

Benefits, interpersonal interactions, work is incredibly rewarding, great schedule.

    Cons

Leaders sometimes pretend they are your ecclesiastical leaders in feedback and administration (e.g. they receive "revelation" about you without any ecclesiastical authority or input on your part that trumps any feelings or personal revelation you may have), earning potential and growth is slow and steady (and has no connection with performance).

    Advice to Management

Make becoming a leader in S&I like every other department in the church (you apply for it, go through an interview process, provide a resume, and prove leadership competence), instead of pretending that our leaders are Bishop's, Stake Presidents, and Mission Presidents called of God with ecclesiastical authority. I feel like the way we mimic the church is intended to be flattering but ultimately mocks the REAL revelatory positions in the church.
