    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Good location (above Bart station, many restaurants in walking distance), good pay if you perform well, good advancement opportunity, very work-life balanced (management very supportive, but it's a two way street - you need to perform as well)

    Cons

very much headquarter based - getting info and advancements are easier if you're in the headquarter.

    Advice to Management

    Offer more telecommuting options

    Pros

you see your work on the shelf
    applied technology in teams
good size company - not too big or small

    Cons

not as big as a really big company for diversity
the area is so nice - hard to get work done sometimes

    Advice to Management

just do it - and get it done quickly
    speed is an advantage
trust you people to make the right decisions - reduce bureauracy - eliminate arbitrary timelines

    Pros

Clorox has great people, great brands and for the most part is a collaborative environment.

    Cons

It would be nice to re-evaluate the vacation policy. Most people are hired with 2 weeks of vacation, at 5 yrs that increases to 3 weeks, then at 10 years increases to 4 weeks. Some people are hired with 3 weeks initially, but you remain with 3 weeks until 10 years of service. Perhaps Clorox can move to a PTO policy combining sick time and vacation time and the employee uses how they need.

    Advice to Management

    Review vacation policy

    Pros

    Collaborative environment
    VERY smart people
    Recognition of hard work
Interesting work (despite what you might think given their brands :)

    Cons

Overall, the people are wonderful, but I have seen some questionable hires in management positions. Clorox very much respects the P&G's and Ivy Leaguers of the world and in my opinion sometimes hires based only on background and not overall fit or contribution. Have only seen it a few times so far.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing! I love the inverted pyramid management style and constant communication to employees.

    Pros

they actively promote within but you have to do your work too, such as attaining your education level necessary and learning new skills. you are encouraged to go to other departments to learn and train. It is a very positive atmosphere. The vp is very knowledgeable but also accessible.

    Cons

lower management sometimes loses focus and does not know how to grow employees, they get stagnant. However, the company is actively working on changing this.

    Pros

    - Smaller company means senior management in sales and marketing are accessible to entry level employees
    - Performance-based advancement- work hard/get results and you will be rewarded
    - Work life balance slightly better than some competitors (half day Fridays in summer, flexible telecommuting policy on Fridays/ongoing)

    Cons

    - Company focus on maintaining and protecting established brands results in less flexibility in production and packaging changes and a cautious approach to innovation

Amazing place to work - can move faster, but definitely a spirit of working together to win. The company is very well run, and Brand is seen as a lead function
