I have been working at The Connor Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Working on your own by yourself, can concentrate and stay focused better on getting the task done, nobody constantly there breathing down your neck

    Cons

Running out of supplies and materials, bouncing around from one unit to another, having to be on standby every other week for emergencies

    Advice to Management

Try and relax from time to time

    Pros

Great health insurance. Certification in HVAC

    Cons

No accountability among management when it changes. They say people count but hire outside when you earned a position.

    Advice to Management

    Stay constant

I worked at The Connor Group (Less than a year)

    Pros

The training program at the home office is great.

    Cons

Training in the field is terrible. The manager I was learning from was fired after a few days, so they shuffled me around three different properties before firing another manager and assigning that property to me. Talk about sink or swim.

    Advice to Management

Spend more time training managers in their locations. At least let them participate in hiring process for staff.

I worked at The Connor Group full-time

    Pros

The party and benefits were great and the knowledge I was given initially was awesome.

    Cons

The response time from the higher ups. Retail like hours and unwillingness to help current residents is terrible. The cliques and gossip are the worst I've ever seen. It is a sales job which is fine but pushing a bad apartment on somebody to make a goal and a profit with the promise of fixing it later. It's awful.

    Advice to Management

Do the right thing for the people who live on your properties and the people that actually care about those people Who work in your leasing offices.

I worked at The Connor Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There were not many PROS about this company, and it wasn't until the last few months that it became obvious they were not concerned about their employees or their residence. The staff at some of the properties were awesome, and we all left for the same reasons. I am still friends with several co-workers from my time there. BEST PRO EVER.

    Cons

Property Management didn't practice what they preached. They shopped on the clock, didn't follow corporate policies and procedures and Senior Management thought it was okay to have relations with staff. Until they got caught and terminated.

I have been working at The Connor Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Bonus Potential, No Micro-management; Relationship building with upper management; knowledge gained of correct property management; the company is financially stable; Professional co-workers to work with

    Cons

A lack of work/life balance; not enough staff for the property (sales & maintenance); a lot of turnover with all levels of employees (sales, maintenance & property management); there is not a short-term disability option with insurance; high insurance costs

    Advice to Management

Think more about the employees. Create an opportunity to have more of a work/life balance for employees, especially those that are excelling at the job. Provide a short-term disability option for all employees because for those thinking to start a family, there isn't an adequate maternity leave policy.

I worked at The Connor Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

*Some of the people you work with are fantastic!
    *Training/Follow up training programs

    Cons

    *Hours
    *Pay
    *Stress
    *Residents
*The way you are treated by upper management
*You are told when you first are offered a position that you may have to work an occasional Saturday. I worked EVERY Saturday and Sunday. If ever asked for a Saturday off you are given grief.
*You are supposed to get sick and vacation time but are told you have no dedication if you try and use it.
*You are told about rewaerd and recognition but it is never truly given.
*The bonus scale is ridiculous and almost impossible to reach.

    Advice to Management

*Focus more on the people doing all of the work.(Your sales people) Managers get all the glory and praise when in reality the sit on their behinds in an office while sales people field all of the calls and do all of the work. We hit the numbers needed and they get the high fives and bonus checks.

    Pros

The advancement opportunity is great for you if you hit your rental and renewal goal

    Cons

If you have children and like spending quality time with them this is not the job for you. They move you from place to place you never know where you will end up. Your hours randomly change you may get off at 6 or it could be after 7.
