I worked at The Egg and I Restaurants full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I worked here 5 years, and it used to be a really nice place to work. Everyone worked great as a team.

    Cons

This place is managed poorly by the GM/Owner. She does not pay you well, that is why turn over rate is so bad. I worked here 5 years and never got a raise as management. only making 9.50 a hour. I decided I would work in the kitchen to make more money...yes, cooks make more money than management. So I worked up to a dollar more, once I asked to get a raise. And you know what. SHE FORGOT TO PAY ME MY RAISE for 6 weeks. and when I told her she messed up, she said she didn't forget.. I have the paystubs that show that she didn't give me my raise, Finally I was fed up with working hard for someone who doesn't care about her business. She made us run the place with no hot water, she made us run the place with no water at all! This place will never shut its doors no matter if we have power or not. One year when our pipes froze she had us telling the guests to walk in the snow next door to the Sheraton to wash their hands and use the restroom. That could shut us down if a health inspector would have ever found out. The Owner would rather pay 5 managers poorly, than make one person a GM. The owner goes out of town all of the time, and doesn't make sure that the restaurant is taken care of. The kitchen is always out of something, and the poor assistant managers have to deal with the yelling and screaming from the owner, when something is wrong.

    Advice to Management

TAKE CARE OF YOUR EMPLOYEES! YOU ARE GOING TO LOSE THEM ALL!

Really great hours if you are carrying a couple of jobs. The management at the restaurant I worked are were really nice and easy to communicate with. I learned a lot about cashiering and working directly with customers. I really enjoyed the cliental

    Cons

Sadly they were unable to keep me employed due to business being slow and I needed more hours.

    Advice to Management

Develop really fun community advertising campaigns that would get the community involved and excited about what the restaurant has to offer.

Things got a little funky when Fresh Watch came into play, but I guess that's normal in a transition.
