I have been working at The GEO Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

It's easy to get hired if you speak another language and have a bachelors. Many positions are based on the contracts with the government, so if it ends, you can collect unemployment.

    Cons

The work volume is very high with tight deadlines. Many workers often get burnt out and get easily irritated. I mean a twelve hour shift without breaks or lunches can really wear your body down. Wages are slightly below non-profit, but it can be made up with a lots of overtime. However the medical coverage costs a lot and the coverage is very poor. I ended up buying my own medical insurance instead of using the one offered.
