      Awesome Company!!

      Pros

The GEO Group is a great place to work and grow. The opportunities are endless for employees who care about the population and want to work hard. The company offers good pay, good benefits and supportive/attentive management. I've worked for the company for 6 years and have occupied 3 positions in that time. Work life doesn't get better than being a part of a company that promotes healthier individuals and communities. There are no words to express the rewards for guiding people to change and improve their lives. A population that society has unfortunately deemed unworthy. A paycheck is nice but being part of the personal transformations is its own motivation to keep going. GEO has invested in me and has been flexible with my needs. This shows great attention and appreciation of employees.

      Cons

It only takes a couple of bad attitudes in an office to poison the culture and mood for all. These should be addressed quickly and without delay. Some people don't want to work for their paycheck and do not find joy in helping others. These people do not belong with a company working to stay positive for the clients. The general public does not understand what we do. We need to speak out more so people can, at the very least, create an informed opinion before blindly bashing a company with a great mission worthy of support.

      Pros

Pay is good for the work you do.

      Cons

Company does not appreciate its employees. Favoritism and Nepotism is extremely high. No turkeys for the holiday, which was a yearly treat. Also cancelled all holiday gifts for employees. Considered Essential workers, but treated horribly during pandemic. Several staff out without pay. Insurance costs are high

Not a good outfit to work for

Nov 4, 2019 - Detention Officer in Tacoma, WA

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Pay is good for what you do. If your single with no life its a good job.

      Cons

The bennie are so bad better off not having, Way to Much over time *5 days a week of OT** and no end in sight. No Leadership, Don't care about safety of Officers, Two face and will stab you in the back any chance they get. Boys club in the center so if your not in then your out. In a few Months there as been a vacuum sound of people leaving due to bad Management. To most it would say how bad they treat you and they Don't Care. Union was brought in and it helps some but its a new Union and still learning so no real help. Training stinks and the training has gone down hill every yr. (seen in ART classes) Very unfriendly to Veterans. Unfriendly to Families of staff, and forget Time off as it changes in a flash with out warning.
