I have been working at The Gel Group full-time

    Pros

This is a small company with a great HR department and upper-level management. Employees are generally friendly and easy to work with. Also, the company allows a large amount of PTO and offers great health insurance.

    Cons

Across the board, pay at this company is not on par with required education or experience. Lower-level management, such as group leaders, seem complacent and uninterested in changes the company is making for the better. Also, it is easy to move laterally within the company, but extremely difficult to move up. High turnover rate of employees.

    Advice to Management

Incentivize your employees to stay! This is a great company, but no entry-level employee today wants to stay at a company with the same pay rate or benefits for 15 years. It is difficult to build an environment based on teamwork when the turnover rate is so high.

I worked at The Gel Group full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

GEL provides great training and are very safety conscious. The company runs very efficiently and the people there are very professional and knowledgeable.

    Cons

Your pay will remain pretty static, even after being there for several years. The management training could be much better. They tend to promote people into management who know their subject matter but have little or no people skills.

    Advice to Management

Concentrate more on training managers to relate to people and productivity will go up.

I worked at The Gel Group full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great staff, interesting projects, great reputation locally.

    Cons

No leadership from the ownership group. Decision making is slow. Salaries are below market value.

    Advice to Management

If you are not growing, you are dying.

I worked at The Gel Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Depending upon your group leader hours could be fairly flexible.

    Cons

Dishonest practices encouraged in one on one situations, but officially they preach integrity.

They will try to save the company money at your expense. - If you work overtime on a regular basis because you are busy they will "promote" you to salary, require you to work at least 45 hours per week, but only pay you the 41 hour, pre-promotion equivalent.

    Advice to Management

LISTEN to your employees sometimes. Happy employees are more efficient employees.

    Very close team
One big team even within different brands
