I worked at The General full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay rate, some of the nicest people work here

    Cons

Supervisors! Un-organized & can't be trusted)...constant changes without informing the staff, they will fire you.

    Advice to Management

Open your eyes so you can see that you have let go of a great employee. I was fired & their was no actual proof that I did anything wrong, nor did I do anything wrong. You have too many bitter women working there & PMS runs rapid within the company. Please stop saying you care when you really do not.

I have been working at The General full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The General really emphasizes growth and development. You get to drive your own career here. They are very welcoming and truly embrace the teamwork spirit. There have been a lot of changes as the company continues to grow so the opportunities are vast. Given their lean model you will be pushed in your role to really own your work and you will come out stronger for it.

    Cons

With all the changes and growing pains it can be difficult at times adjusting to new policies or technology so being open and fluid is a must here!

    Advice to Management

Keep the channels of communication open and make sure that all invested parties are being included in future plans and their input is being considered.

    Pros

Tons of opportunities and a great work environment. The company works hard to engage employees and make us feel appreciated.

    Cons

Pay is pretty average. The company is definitely experiencing growing pains but management is trying to do things the right way.

    Advice to Management

Too many cooks in the kitchen sometimes. Empower people and clarify roles.

I have been working at The General full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company is experiencing a large amount of growth and the opportunity is endless. New systems and processes are being rolled out to improve claims handling. Like with any change there were some initial pain points, but the kinks are being worked out and improvements are being made! The company cares about what the employees have to say and look to utilize as many ideas from the employees as possible.Great group of coworkers. Almost all of the claims branches have moved into newly renovated and modern locations. It truly is a great time to be a part of this company!

    Cons

As noted above, there are some pain points due to new systems and processes, but once those are quickly being addressed.

    Advice to Management

You are doing a great job leading through the change and growth. Continue to keep the lines of communication open! Also, continue to review salaries and benefits to ensure we stay competitive with the industry.

    Pros

Huge growth and opportunities. Heavy investment owner and lots of low hanging fruit that comes with a small company becoming large.

    Cons

Advancement seems to be about who you know. Hard to shift roles across departments. Leaders are heavy technical which is great for help and management but poor in career development and leadership.

    Advice to Management

Lead and inspire. Don't just manage.
