I worked at The Glover Park Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Best-in-class team of professionals with an array of backgrounds offering a unique opportunity to see issues from all sides. This mix also provides a great learning opportunity for young professionals.

Work on issues in the headlines and for a broad range of clients, including multinational corporations, foundations, non-profit organizations, associations, and U.S. and foreign governments.

Opportunity to work on a range of issues and clients. Throughout my time, I was never pigeonholed into a specific issue focus (or vertical) and was able to speak up and join an account if it sounded personally interesting.

Overall supportive work environment, providing opportunities for growth and valuing all contributions to accounts.

Exceptional benefits and generally flexible work environment.

Fun group of people! Have made lifelong friends with many colleagues.

    Cons

Expect to work long hours to be most successful.

Internal communication, including regarding promotions/raises, hires/departures and other announcements, could improve.

    Pros

Very perky! Lots of fun office opportunities and great minds all around the office.

    Cons

Not a lot of upward mobility and not a good fit unless you're specifically interested in politics/policy.

I worked at The Glover Park Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Some of the best clients in the world. Other agencies in DC and beyond envy the client roster.
Extremely smart and talented colleagues that truly do treat each other like family. I have made lifelong friends at GPG.
Opportunity to work across multiple practice verticals and specialities. Exposure to many communications needs and situations.
Great benefits including health and flexible schedules. Above industry average in time-off and pay.
Rewards entrepreneurialism. If you are self-starter and team collaborator that can add value, you will go far.

    Cons

Some long hours (to be expected).
Internal communication on hires and departures could be better.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work.

    Pros

Working with some of the smartest people in the business, very interesting clients come through the door.

    Cons

The nimble, startup culture leads to fast-paced and sometimes disorganized approaches to client work

I worked at The Glover Park Group full-time

    Pros

GPG is a great shop -- a DC communications/government relations agency with exceptional people, an impeccable client list, and a strong sense of culture.

    Cons

Their headquarters in DC definitely the hub of the company. There is so much opportunity for growth, however, and I'd like to see them build out their New York office and even build out a west coast office.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up. The Glover Park Group is an exceptional company -- I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and, in doing so, set me up for future professional growth and success.

I worked at The Glover Park Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

What a great place to work, in a lot of ways GPG is like a big family, After leaving I realize a lot of things I took for granted. Some of my closest friends are former or current GPG employees. The company culture is very much a work hard play hard lifestyle and there is never a shortage of interesting clients to work with. It’s not for everyone but it’s really a testament to the founders and HR for bringing the right set of people that align with the companies culture. After leaving you realize some companies don’t believe in cultivating company culture as much as GPG, and makes me wish I could come back. The company trips are amazing, and I still long for my macbook air than my current 5 pound brick of a laptop.

    Cons

Besides my addiction to La Croix I can't think of any..

    Advice to Management

More check-ins with your employees would be helpful. At my current company we do check-ins every 4/6 weeks and even though it's only 10/15 minutes it's really helpful.
