I worked at The Goddard School part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great coworkers and administrative ownership.

    Cons

    Often turn around of teachers

    Advice to Management

Hire teachers who are not using the school as a "stepping stone" in their teaching careers. We had several new certified teachers within the year come and go due to finding better jobs in the district. Our kids were left with substitutes until a new teacher came along which really impacted stability for the kids.

    Pros

Flexible time off, it's a franchise so if you have a great owner and directors it's too not bad. Trainings

    Cons

Low pay, rough clientele, a lot of extra work you need to take home without being compensated. No room for growth.

    Pros

Great co-workers! The school day is very structured, which greatly benefits the students. More PTO the longer you work! Lesson plans for every week and developmental portfolios for every month per student.

    Cons

The school is open until 6 pm all week, but that is typical for a daycare/school.

I have been working at The Goddard School full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great Reputation
    Great 401k 'arching
    Great management
    Excellent facility - Great location
    Everything is digital
Parents receive immediate updates about children
Outdoor play area at San Ramon center is wonderful.
Staff is great - Kind, relaxing, and knowledgable

    Cons

They don't give your references much time to get back to them,
The pay is $2 - $5 less per hour than other offers. That's $4,160 - $10,400 a year. (But the benefits are outstanding!)

    Advice to Management

To be competitive in the Bay Area (CA), you need to offer teachers a competitive salary for that area. You get what you pay for and you will reduce your turn over rate dramatically.

I have been working at The Goddard School full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The families spoil me as a teacher. It seems like every month I am getting gifts and cards from my parents and directors reminding me how appreciated I am. The families care about their kids which results in well-behaved kids who are eager to learn and please. The curriculum is fun to plan and with the constant weekly and monthly themes, you never get bored coming up with new ideas for the students.

    Cons

There are currently no health benefits or 401k.

I worked at The Goddard School full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I worked here for over three years and although it was a difficult job, I felt well supported and encouraged. The owner is one of the kindest, most thoughtful people I have ever worked for. He truly cares about his staff and the children. I regret leaving but know ultimately it was the right decision because I don't think the profession was a good fit. I highly recommend anyone looking for a position in preschool to consider working there. Also, the building is also kept spotlessly clean.

    Cons

The pay is not great, but is about average for the industry.

The are children and parents. The children are loving and the parents will to work with the teacher to help their children grow and learn.

    Cons

The communication between teacher and administration is bad. The communication between administration and parents on information they need to know.

    Pros

Awesome people to work with. The parents are lovely and some of the teachers are also great to work with as well

    Cons

Horrible pay, staff is so short that some early employees do not even get to go home on their due time out
